I had planned a visit to Pondicherry on a Sunday as i was in chennai. While looking for tour options on TripAdvisor i found a motorcycle tour! It sounded like fun as we could ride on the East coast road. my only worry was the traffic. But the tour came with an escort rider and so i booked. The bike was 500 cc Royal Enfield with a nice thump. We were provided helmets aa well. It was an amazing day. We started early by 7 to avoid traffic and it was cool as well. It was a breeze ro leave the city behind. We rode for 3 hours and then had a twa break. We had reached Auroville and so had a good ride inside to see the concept of a global community living. another half hour and we hit the beach in pondicherry. The french quarters were spectacular and we also visited a temple with an elephant. The ride back was good as well. We got dropped in our hotel. by 7pm. A fantastic way of seeing india on a classic motorcycle. Veru highly recommended..

Thanks Vijay for a wonderful day trip on a Royal Enfield. Due to my time constraints we had to modify the plan, but I still managed to have a great experience on the road. Winding in and out of Kanchipuram, the silk Saree capital, we were greeted by groups of wedding parties in their vivid red and glistening gold sarees, illuminating the streetscape. There is nothing like exploring India on an Enfield, it is totally immersive, you are part of the action, see it, hear it, smell it, taste it, while feeling the thumping Enfield engine propel you along for more. Then into the sanctuary of the temple with informative descriptions by Vijay of the stories, legends and history of this very holy site. Thanks for a great day! James
