• Nice Enough, But Not Great Value

  We did the 3-hour Rarotonga tour as a family (including my mother-in-law), and while it was pleasant enough, it didn’t quite deliver the value we were hoping for. The host was friendly and easy to get along with, but we found the overall experience a bit lacking in depth. We often stopped at places without much explanation or context, which meant we didn’t really come away feeling like we’d learned much about the island. Lunch was fine — nothing special, but the fresh fruit was definitely a highlight. For us, the main value of a guided tour is the knowledge and insights you gain, and unfortunately that’s where this one fell short. Given the cost, it’s hard not to compare it to simply hiring a car for a week and exploring independently. Overall, a nice enough outing, but not something we felt was worth the money.

  4 stops to get off the bus. 1 nice "lunch" with fruits and yummy date scones. Short time on inland roads, very interesting. More time on ring road which you could also do on the public bus. Good commentary, sometimes with a dry sense of humour. Maybe a touch overpriced. Confirmation of tour received 5 minutes before the bus turned up for pick-up. 4 people were no-shows, possibly because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone for four days over Easter. Not very professional for a tour company.

  My wife & I found the experience to be very informative & the driver/narrator provided us with a great history of the Cook Islands. We appreciated his insight & humour along with Marie(sorry of if I misspelled her name) from your booking office. We arrived here yesterday & found taking the trip now gave us some good ideas of places we could go back on ourselves during the rest of our stay. We are spending 11 days here as part of our 55th wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better place in the world to do so. Cheers Andy & Pat Harasemchuk Canada

• Rarotonga bus tour

  Very informative tour through Rarotongas back roads past small plantations of fruit and vegetables grown by the Cook Is people. Also drove around the island looking at some historical sites and natural features . Gave us a history of Rarotonga. Knowledgable of local history and cultural points was great to learn. Lovely lunch at a Garden Cafe was lovely.

  we were looking forward to going on the tour but the response and contact from the tour advisor and company was none exciting, we booked for a trip out for my daughter and myself, after many messages and mails trying to confirm where to meet and confirm the booking we had no feedback from anyone. this is so sad as you come on vacation to avoid the stress and issues of every day life. needless to say for these reason i would never recommend the site or operator.

  This was a unique experience to get to see and learn about the island away from the beaches. The history was fascinating, and it was a privilege to be guided by a genuine rangitira (chief) of Aoraki.

  Contacted the tour company two days before the tour to update my accommodation to no response. Follow up message also went with no response. Was advised they do not work over weekends (which is fine) but apparently they don’t look at any messages until after your tour is meant to commence. They did not pick me up and asked me to reschedule the tour. I did not have any free time to reschedule so requested a refund. Tour company is refusing to refund for them not providing a service and blaming me, the customer, by stating I did not update them - even when there are time stamped contact attempts. Will be taking this further
