Itchan Kala

The gateway to the desert, Itchan Kala, stands as the largest remaining preserved walled city in Central Asia. Located in the heart of Khiva, the inner fortified city of Itchan Kala is home to over 50 historic monuments and 250 traditional dwellings that date back to the 19th century and beyond. As such, it stands as the perfect place to appreciate the evolution of Islamic architecture. Islam Khodja Complex

Islam-Khodja Complex is one of the pearls of Ichan-Kala - Khiva’s historical part, which was the first Uzbekistan’s site included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990. Although the madrasah and minaret of the complex were built only in 1908 - 1910, they are the most prominent of Ichan-Kala, its landmark. The complex is famous thanks to the contrast between its Ichan-Kala’s tallest minaret and smallest madrasah, as the architect of the complex designed. Thus the minaret, visible at a long distance, looks even grander. At the beginning of the last century the minaret helped travelers to orientate themselves and find the way to the city faster.

Citadel Kunya-ark

Among the many historical attractions of the inner city of Khiva - Ichan-kala, the residence of the Khiva khans – the Kunya-Ark Fortress, erected at the end of the XVII century, deserves special attention.

Kalta Minor Minaret

This fat, turquoise-tiled minaret was begun in 1851 by Mohammed Amin Khan, who according to legend wanted to build a minaret so high he could see all the way to Bukhara. Unfortunately the khan dropped dead in 1855, leaving the beautifully tiled structure unfinished.

By the way you will enjoy the view of the the Great Silk Road (which passes through the Kyzylkum Desert on the way between Khiva and Bukhara). 18.14 Arrival in Bukhara. The driver will meet you in Bukhara train station. Transfer to the hotel. Leisure/ free time. Overnight.

Ulugbek Madrasah

Ulugbek Madrasah of Bukhara, Uzbekistan is the oldest surviving madrasah in Central Asia, built in 1417 by the great astronomer and ruler Mirzo Ulugbek.

Bolo Hauz Mosque

The most impressive feature of the Bolo Hauz Mosque is the tall, intricately carved pillars that line the front entrance. The mosque was built in the 17th century and the entire complex includes a small pond that was used as a water reservoir and a short minaret.

Chor Minor Madrasah

The name “chor-minor” translates to “four minarets” in Tajik. And those four pillars topped with vibrant blue domes are what give this structure such a unique shape.

Ark of Bukhara

It is a huge fortress and it took about two quick hours to go through it. There are about 8 types of different Museums in the Fortress

Lyab-i-Hauz

Surrounding the pool on three sides, consists of Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa, Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrassa and the monument of Khodja Nasreddin

Poi Kalyan Mosque

'The foot of the great', consists of three structures built in the 12th - 16th centuries

Mir-i-Arab Madrasa

It was constructed during the 16th century and is still used to be an operational Madrasah and it also has the shrine of Mir Arab.

Great Minaret of the Kalon

The Kalyan minaret is a minaret of the Po-i-Kalyan mosque complex in Bukhara, Uzbekistan and one of the most prominent landmarks in the city.

Gur Emir Mausoleum

Gur-e Amir is Persian for "Tomb of the King". This architectural complex with its azure dome contains the tombs of Tamerlane

Registan

the heart of Samarkand and a real visitcard of Central Asian medieval architecture consists of three grandiose buildings: Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor, and Madrassa Tilla Kori

Bibi Khanym Mosque

In the 15th century, it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world. It is considered a masterpiece of the Timurid Renaissance.

The largest bazaar in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. All daily necessities, such as "Samarkand naan", are sold. Siyob Bazaar is located adjacent to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and is visited not only by local people but also by domestic and foreign tourists.

Shah-i-Zinda

Ensemble includes mausoleums and other ritual buildings of 11th – 15th and 19th centuries.

Ulugh Beg Observatory

The Ulugh Beg Observatory is an observatory in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, built in the 1420s by the Timurid astronomer Ulugh Beg.

Kukeldash Madrasah

One of the most famous historical sites in Uzbekistan's capital. Built in 1570 under the Shaybanid Dynasty. It is beautiful example of Islamic architecture and are certainly worth a stop when you’re in the area.

Amir Temur Square

Amir Temur square founded in 1882 and originally called Konstantinovsky Square, was renamed on August 31, 1994, after the Amir Timur to honor the cultural and historical contribution of the great conqueror.

Amir Timur Museum

The most impressive area of the museum is the central rotunda. A copy of the Quran sits in the center with a vibrantly colored mural behind it. The domed ceiling is painted gold with a fantastic chandelier hanging from the center.

Ensemble Hazrati Imam

A religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah; Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century (original Quran Othman). Khast Imam is one of the most significant spiritual centers in Central Asia and attracts pilgrims and visitors all over the world.

Independence Square (Mustakillik Square)

The main square of Uzbekistan reflects the past, present, and future of the country. There are fountains standing for the life energy of Uzbek people, the Cabinet and the Senate, the “Eternal flame" in honor of soldiers who died during the Second World War.

Chorsu Bazaar Tashkent

The ancient bazaar of Tashkent. “Chorsu” means “four waters”, symbolically meaning the conjunction of four major parts of the old city in the bazaar where people come for trades.

Courage Earthquake Memorial

The composition is devoted to the tragic date of earthquake in Tashkent on April 26, 1966, and is erected in the approximate place of the earthquake epicenter. Residents still come to the monument to honor those people who took a part in the reconstruction of Tashkent;
