  We just finished a tour of the Alhambra with Nerea and it was honestly the highlight of our trip. She knew every detail of the history and architecture, and shared so much rich background that really brought the place to life. What set her apart though was her humor and personality. She made the whole experience feel less like a lecture and more like wandering through the palaces with a witty friend who happens to know everything.   The Alhambra is a MUST see when going to Granada and Spain. It’s truly a wonder! Wouldn’t you go see Stonehenge if you were in England? First, the tickets were very pricey ($480 USD for 2 people). Secondly, be sure to enter your passport information AND bring it with you or your government issued ID. You won’t be allowed on the tour without it. It’s in the directions but NOT emphasized enough! Also, give yourself plenty of time to get to the meeting point. The bus trams are very full and you could easily not be allowed on one. A taxi might be best option honestly. They are plentiful and cheap! Our tour guide, Paula, was knowledgeable and friendly. No difficulty understanding her presentation even though English is not her native language. It is a 3 hour tour with a nice 20 minute rest break in the middle. Refreshments and Bathrooms are available. You will move at a steady pace—not a lot of lingering, but still enjoyable. There’s a lot of ground to cover! Our tour ended at 8:00pm. Bus/Tram service was over crowded-lots of people had to wait for the next bus. Taxis not readily available as they were earlier in the day. They will arrive quickly when called by phone though. We decided to just walk back to town. Glad we went, tour was good but wish price was lower. I totally get supply and demand, but this seems like a “fleecing”. If you can buy Alhambra tickets directly several months before your trip so you aren’t at the mercy of having to buy marked up experiences from 3rd party vendors.

  We were in the 9am English premium small group tour w ten people. Our guide Juanjo was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and shared jokes and interesting history about La Alhambra and palaces and amazing generalife gardens. The process moving between sites and pace was perfect. Upon completion approximately 3 hours, you can choose to stay on your own. Note that you must keep your tickets they hand out at the beginning and have your ID as there are checkpoints between the 3 parts. It’s a huge complex but most of the walking is level once you’re up top. We took a taxi for about $6 from town but took the c32 bus back down for 1,60€. Very easy process. Recommend using the bus as the taxi line up top was long/long wait so we bailed and hopped on the little red bus which you can pay the driver w credit card as you board. The bus was not crowded at all. Overall would highly recommend this experience. It’s a little pricey but it was well worth with as we got so much more out of it with a guide and didn’t have to wait in any lines despite it being busy. As we left around 1 it was getting even more crowded with school groups and big tours. Try to do morning if your schedule allows.

  This is an excellent tour of the Alhambra and Generalife site. We experienced the entire site in a little over 3 hours.

  First and last let me say that Georgia our guide was absolutely amazing. There was nothing we could ask that was beyond her knowledge base. The company though clearly has something to learn about customer service. They changed the start time with no notice on the Viator app which led to a frantic 20 min running around at the Alhambra assuming we missed the tour. WhatsApp is good notification for some but certainly not all. 2 parties in our group missed a significant part of the tour because of the last minute time change and conflicting plans. We’ve done many Viator tours and this is only one where things were so unorganized. Beware.

  My husband and I really enjoyed this experience. We spent 2 weeks traveling around Spain, seeing Paella and hearing how Valencia was the place for true Paella. This was a fun, informative and delicious way to learn about it. It started with Sangria, ham and chips while Mark, our chef, told us the history of Paella. He was great. Then we started peeling, chopping and mixing our food. Everyone had a chance to do something if they wanted to. When everything was finished cooking, we sat down to wine, omelette, Paella and sponge cake. Delicious! Highly recommend.

  Incredible tour of the gardens and Alhambra palace. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the palace and its history!
