Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, also known as the Ubud Monkey Forest, is one of the most famous attractions in Ubud, Bali. It’s a nature reserve and Hindu temple complex that serves as both a sanctuary for hundreds of long-tailed macaque monkeys and a significant cultural site. The forest spans over 12.5 hectares and is home to around 1,200 to 1,260 monkeys, making it a lively and engaging experience for visitors. The sanctuary also features lush greenery, with a rich variety of tropical plants and towering ancient trees. Within the forest, there are three Hindu temples dating back to the 14th century, dedicated to different deities, such as Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the main temple, which honors the god Shiva.

5.00We had an amazing East Bali day tour covering Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga, and Besakih Temple with our guide, Kadek. He was extremely friendly, professional, and made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. Sandy explained everything clearly throughout the journey and shared interesting details about each place. He also helped us with tickets, transportation, and every small detail, which made the experience stress-free. Overall, he was an excellent guide, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Bali.

5.00I truly don’t have enough words to describe how amazing this trip was. Everything was handled so well—from arranging the pickup to keeping me informed throughout the journey—making me feel very at ease the entire time. The hospitality was exceptional! I’d rate it 10/10 and highly recommend it for both groups and solo travelers. I will definitely book with Wayan again! I also strongly suggest adding the swing and dress experience at the rice terrace—it’s totally worth it. I would happily repeat this experience over and over! If you plan to visit the monkey forest, just make sure you’re comfortable being around live animals.

5.00We had an unforgettable experience!! Our guide, Ayu, took us to many places and patiently waited for us at each stop. She was extremely kind and shared detailed insights about Bali and its culture. One of the highlights for me was the purification ritual at the water temple—thanks to her guidance, I was able to understand and perform it correctly. I would absolutely recommend her to everyone!!!! 💖

5.00We had an incredible day exploring Ubud in the comfort of a private car. It was easily the highlight of our Bali trip! What made it special: Total Comfort: The car was clean and comfortable. Custom Pace: We never felt rushed. Our driver was happy to stay longer at the rice terraces and even suggested a few "secret" local spots. 5.00Thanks to our guide, Gede, we had a wonderful day in Ubud! Perhaps because I mentioned in advance that I wanted to take many photos at the swing and Monkey Forest, he took us to those two spots first. For the swing and Monkey Forest, he gave us about two options to choose from (for example, for Monkey Forest, whether we just wanted to see the monkeys or if we wanted a place where we could take pictures with them). We spent too much time at the swing, so the tour ran over the stated time, but he still took us to a coffee shop and the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, and even took some lovely photos for us. Thank you, Gede, for guiding us for such a long time in the heat!

5.00mThe tour guide did an excellent job on supporting us with whatever he can, including where to eat and have a drink based on our requirements and expected prices. We skipped one location during the tour because we were a little afraid of the monkeys. However, he didn't show any frustration at all. Another thing to give compliment is that he is a fantastic driver and a great storyteller as well. To sum up, I will definitely five stars without a doubt after the journey.

5.00The Real Bali Swing was incredible! The staff was so friendly and helpful! We chose are gorgeous dresses and the photographers did an excellent job. The setting, of course, was so beautiful! If you go to Bali, ladies, don't miss the Real Bali Swing!
