  This tour was beyond any expectations- so much better, so brilliantly put together with expert care by Rolandia and our tour guide Traian. We couldn’t have been better looked after, anything we wanted was possible.. and what a country and culture! Because it only ended up that the two of us booked for this date, Rolandia didn’t cancel but gave us a comfortable car and guide to ourselves! The hotels were exceptional and varied in style, always in the best part of town and though we covered a lot of ground and beautiful sights we were never exhausted or overwhelmed.   This trip is an absolute must for lovers of culture, nature, architecture, food and history. My trip was a little difficult so set up because of flight times but nonetheless from the outset, Nico's communication and adaptation meant I didn't have to miss out. From the moment I was greeted by my tour guide George, I immediately knew it was going to be a good trip. What I did not anticipate was that Romania would go on to be my favourite country. It's one of those places where every single place you look there is something you want to take a photo of. My experience was further enriched by the deep historical and geopolitical knowledge George possessed. I felt like I had a real insiders pass to the most beautiful country on earth. If you are considering maybe doing this trip, hesitate no more and book immediately. Thank you George, Nico and Rolandia, I will be back.

  We did a modified version of this tour that was customized to our tastes. The Romanian countryside was spectacular, especially the drive along the Transfăgărășan Highway into Transylvania from Bucharest. We saw Poenari Castle along the way and, of course, a couple of bears. For each place we stayed, we added a rest day, so we were free to roam around city squares at our leisure in Sibiu, Sighișoara, and Brașov. Our tour guide, Laurentiu Muscalu, was PHENOMENAL! His English is excellent, and his knowledge of every area we visitied with him was extraordinary. He was our guide for the entire trip, taking us from Bucharest, through winding roads to Sibiu, and then on to Sighișoara and Brașov. He has a warm, friendly personality, is a very good driver, and can be quite fun and entertaining. I could not have asked for a better guide to see this amazing country. My wife has wanted to visit Transylvania since she was a child. We did a lot of research on the culture, traditions, and history of Romania prior to our visit, so our expectations were high. This trip greatly exceeded those expectations. I highly recommend Romania, the destinations on this trip, and of course our guide Laurentiu.   I have just completed the Best of Romania in 10 days tour with Sue (whose comments are below) and her husband. I fully endorse her comments, it was a fantastic trip. I would add that we travelled over the Transfagarasan highway (featured on Top Gear) and which passes over the Fagaras mountains in Transylvania at 2000 metres. We saw bears on the way up. This alone was worth the trip and that was just one day! The hotels were all excellent, uniquely different and very comfortable. I highly recommend this trip.

  We have just completed the Best of Romania in 10 days tour. The tour was fantastic, and exceeded our expectations. We saw lots of interesting things - including painted monasteries, the Carpathian mountains, the Transylvanian countryside, Turda salt mine, lovely cities like Sibui, Cluj & Brasov, etc., etc. Our tour guide/drivsr, Emil, was terrific. His knowledge of Romania was vast and he was very happy to share his knowledge with us and answer any questions. He was friendly, and willing to make any adjustments we asked for. The weather was very hot and he had a constant supply of cold water for us. The car provided was great and Emil was a safe driver. All hotels were very comfortable and well located. The Rolandia Tour Company communication prior to the trip was excellent. We highly reccommend Rolandia, this tour and Emil our guide.

  Emil our driver and guide was fantastic. His extensive historical knowledge and experience living under communism enriched my understanding of interesting and beautiful Romania. The trip was wonderful, accom always excellent, the Romanians really lovely, food always great. I'm so lucky for the experience. Thank you Emil and Rolandia Julie

  Our tour guider Emil is very experienced and knowledgeable. It is a three tourists group. So his arrangement was more flexible. The pace is comfortable, including the lunch break and toilet stop. He was very helpful whenever we need. All the handpicked hotels are within walking distances to hot spots. Romania is such a beautiful country with abundant tourist resources, the whole trip was more than we expected. Rolandia is well done. We highly recommend.

  This tour is the best way to see the whole country of Romania! While you may want to see more of what's in the big cities of Romania, no other tour provides such a comprehensive tour experience of the whole country seeing a little bit of everything, and in most locations, everything you'd want to see if you didn't book this comprehensive tour. My tour guide was Emil. He was especially great. His knowledge of history, local traditions, and local jokes added immensely to the experience. Plus, he's an excellent driver. I was adopted from Romania at 2 years old; this trip was my first time coming back to Romania since being adopted and it was everything I hoped it would be - a comprehensive experience to see and learn about the people, history, food, and culture of Romania.

  The tour company is outstanding. Everything was excellent from Airport transfers to our guide Marcel. The company was extremely helpful prior to the trip; answering promptly and completely and securing an extra night for us at the end and ensuring we could stay in the same room. Airport transfers were extremely smooth, even our 3 AM pick up for our return flight. The drivers were polite, the car was spotless and they were on time. The itinerary was amazing showing us the beauty and diversity of the country, from natural wonders, castles, churches, small villages and beautiful historic cities and towns. A perfect route and selection of the many of the best things to do and see. The tour is packed with sights, views and beautiful drives. The only downside is that you are only in a hotel for one night but it is the only way to see as much as we did in 10 days. The hotels were 4 star, unique and located in the perfect location. Our guide, Marcel Ene is a gem. He made the trip perfect in everyway. He was knowledgeable, funny, courteous, helpful and engaging. He told us personal stories to help us gain a deeper understand of the culture, the people and the country. It was like touring with a friend, which he was by the end of the tour. The company and guide pay attention to details to make sure that everything about the trip is memorable and perfect. Romania and Rolandia should be on your bucket list.

  My main tip to those thinking of going to Romania is do it! We knew very little about the country so it was a real eye-opener: a beautiful country with such friendly people. And such a varied history from Michael the Brave and Vlad the Impaler to the Ceausescu Regime and recovery into a thriving country. We were delighted by the service we received from Rolandia, especially our guide/driver Marcel, who was a font of knowledge and made it his aim that we got the most out of every hour. But if you want some other tips: ..Learn the basics of please, thank you, greetings for morning, afternoon and evening etc. .. Do a bit of research into the history before you go so you know more than Ceausescu's death on Christmas Day!
