  If you have ever seen the movie Monte Carlo, this experience felt exactly like the French tour guide rushing through every sight. One day is just not enough time to actually get to walk around and actually enjoy everything. On the bus, they gave us a free water, which was nice, however, you are not allowed to bring plastic bottles with you and they charge you for water on the boat. It was so hot and we left extremely dehydrated even after spending about $40 USD on water. It is not even worth it to bring your own metal bottle because there is no where to fill it up. When you book the cruise, it asks if you have any dietary restrictions, but just know that it doesn’t matter if you do, they are not at all accommodating. I wrote that I have a gluten allergy and I asked several times if I would be able to eat anything and I was not. So not only did I leave dehydrated, but also starving. Thankfully, I packed a couple snacks, but I was very much expecting a meal since I paid for one. There is no “sunset party.” It is just a glass of wine while you pray for the boat to get you back to the shore faster. The sun also didn’t even set until we were boarding the bus to head back, so that was a little sucky that we didn’t even experience the sunset on the boat. I would very much recommend trying to find a tour that takes you over night to places that are not as over populated. The cave was neat, but we were inside of it for maybe 20 minutes and it was absolutely ridiculous getting up to the entry point. Everyone around you is pushing and shoving you on steep, uneven stairs. Very dangerous for children and the heat on top of that makes it even worse. Additionally, I would not recommend this specific tour if you want to only be around adults. Lots of kids running around. The bathrooms were disgusting as well. It seems that no one is able to properly aim for the toilet and there was also no toilet paper left about half way through.

  we booked the halong bay trip which was meticulously arranged the guide johny was very jovial and pleasent guy explaining everything on the way.the trip from the onset that is pic up from hotel till drop at hotel everything was as offered.

  Toan was a great guide! Charming and funny and added facts about places we went to. The bus ride was safe and was in great working condition. We were communicated well with on where to meet and what the bus would look like the night before. I didn't love the visit to the pearl factory but I guess it gave us another bathroom break? It wasn't particularly sunny but we had a good time regardless. I didn't feel overly rushed in any aspect of the trip. Loved the cave hike, the bamboo boat around the bay was nice but not thrilling. The Acardy boat was clean and nice. We enjoyed the use of the Jacuzzi and the quality and variety of food available was good. Drink prices were reasonable. My husband felt unwell and Toan kept checking in on him which was great!
