After disembarking your ship at Curacao’s cruise port, hop aboard a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for the ride to Playa Porto Mari. About 30 minutes north of the cruise terminal on the western coast, Playa Porto Mari is known for its postcard-perfect landscape of pristine beach surrounded by tropical greenery and turquoise waters. Double reefs offshore make this location a unique and excellent spot for snorkeling and diving. Upon arrival, spend the next few hours doing as much — or as little — as you like. Kick off your shoes and sunbathe, or curl up on the beach with a book. Take a dip in the calm blue waters and then sprawl out on a provided beach chair to dry off. Feeling active? Rent snorkeling or diving gear on-site and discover fish swirling around clusters of reef balls, concrete structures placed to encourage marine life development. Discover the rest of the double reefs on two snorkeling or diving trails starting from a jetty in the middle of the bay (note the trail map at the rental stand). If you’re not into water activities, simply stretch out on the sand and work on your tan. Need a snack or a cool drink? Revive yourself with fruity cocktails or beer at the boat-shaped bar, or purchase ice cream or lunch at a beachfront restaurant. Any activities, equipment rental, meals and drinks are at your own expense. Inside the beach facilities, shower off the sand and salty water and freshen up with a change of clothing. When your time is up, you’ll be driven back to the cruise port. Worry-free Shore Excursion:
