Along the trail that will take us up to 2000mt a.s.l., our guide will tell you about how the highest volcano in Europe was born, without leaving the aspects related to flora and fauna that characterize it. After admiring old and new lava flows we will proceed on foot to the inner part of old craters. The charming panorama and the picturesque scenery will give us the feeling of being on the moon. After a short break, the hike will continue with a visit, carrying helmet and torch, inside a lava cave to admire a unique spectacle. Walking through a luxuriant vegetation, we will finally admire the spectacular Valle del Bove.

5.00There is a lot of time spent driving in the vehicle. The times when we exited to see and climb the volcano were awesome. Our guide, Leonardo, was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions, which made the experience very enjoyable. In addition, the lava cave was a unique journey that demonstrated the power of this natural phenomenon. Book the trip! It’s worth it.

5.00We drove through a few scenic towns and climbed the mountain slopes on our way to a stop to view Valle de Bove and a panorama toward Taormina and the Italian mainland. Then visited a lava tube. Finally, we went to the parking area at Meridiano Del Etna and climbed to the area of Piccolo Cratere sud dell’Etna. Be warned: you should be in good shape for the climb. Not extreme but moderately strenuous and at altitude. Overall, a good way to see Etna and its astounding landscape. 15-30 minute stop at the parking area to get a souvenir, run to the loo and grab a snack. If you are looking to go further up the mountain, check for a specific tour that includes the gondola ride and jeep excursions. Etna Est has them. Good drivers and guide. Recommended.
