  We were a three generation family on this tour. It was excellent as most of where we walked was carfree. Ivan was excellent as he knew the history as well as the architecture. We learned a lot and hat a great time. I highly recommend.

  This tour was a highlight of our 7 days stay in NYC. Our group of eight chose this tour because of our love of architecture and we were excited to find a tour led by Ivan, an architect and professor at Columbia University. The tour was educational and fun. We enjoyed walking through the different sites of lower Manhattan besides just seeing the World Trade Center and Wall Street. We wished that we had more time to take some of his other tours to see the uniqueness of other NY neighborhoods. Thank you Ivan.

  We really enjoyed this tour. It was a very cold day, but Ivan, our guide, made a real effort to keep us comfortable by going inside buildings whenever we could to warm up. The tour itself was very interesting, with lots of great information, and Ivan’s background as an architect really came through — he could answer every question we threw at him. He was friendly, patient, and engaging the whole time. The headphones were also a big plus, as they made it easy to hear him clearly. Definitely recommend this tour.

  Was very informative and interesting. Our teens even enjoyed it. Our guide William was great and then helped us get to our lunch reservation after the tour.

  Excellent and informative. Ivan was very knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy sharing what he knew. He was very engaging and welcomed conversation and questions. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and will definitely join another one (or two or three) of their tours. Highly recommend.

  This NYC Architecture Financial District tour was exceptional from beginning to end. Starting at Castle Clinton and finishing at the World Trade Center, the route told a clear and fascinating story of New York’s architectural evolution. Ivan our tour guide was outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the city’s history and design. The explanations of the Financial District’s buildings, urban planning, and historical layers were insightful and easy to follow. The highlight of the tour was the focus on the Oculus. Ivan did an excellent job explaining its design, symbolism, engineering challenges, and place within the rebuilt WTC complex, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the space. Standing inside the Oculus after hearing its story was truly impressive. The tour was well paced, informative, and thoughtfully concluded at the WTC site. This experience greatly deepened our understanding of NYC architecture and history. Highly recommended for anyone interested in architecture, design, or New York City itself.

  This was my second tour with Ivan and I was equally excited! As a native New Yorker, I have been to most of the places on the tour, but Ivan brings new knowledge and perspective that makes the experience anew. These familiar places hold secrets that I wasn't aware of and I so glad I now know them. Makes for great party conversations!

  Great tour from a very well educated professor of architecture. Reccomend for NYC locals and visitors alike. We had the chance to learn about various decades of the city, different styles and the history behind development laws / how they factor into the city’s growth. Ivan was great.
