This tour is conducted by Hermes II. Join the trip with the beautifully restored wooden boat Hermes II. You get to experience both the city and the islands around from the sea side, while you get to hear about the boat's exciting history. All this while enjoying the nature and pleasant company. Feel the calm on board when we sail out of the harbor. Enjoy yourself on the deck and enjoy the nature around you. You will get a closer look at the islands near Tromsø from the sea side, while you get to hear about the exciting history of the boat and about the places we pass. There are also a lot of great photo opportunities along the entire route. Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff on board (Torst and Marin?) were delightful and so good at their jobs. They made sure everyone felt included, often moving from person to person and engaging them in conversation about Norway and travel. They gave several informative talks, including some about the history of the ship, biology of white-tailed eagles (which we saw hunting by the ship), and some local WWII history. They also ensured each guest was comfortable, providing insulated jumpsuits, blankets, and a delicious hot black currant juice. The suits did a good job at keeping us warm, but there was also an indoor area for guests to warm up if needed. The scenery was fantastic as well. This tour is well worth the time!

Incredible trip in the glowing darkness, covered in snow, in a beautiful old wooden boat. Our guides were superb, thank you, so informative every step of the way. Grateful for the thermal suits. So much more interesting than we thought it would be. So lucky too to watch the eagles - wow.

This was the highlight of our week. Beautiful boat, great knowledgeable crew. Nothing was too much trouble - they could tell you anything you wanted to know about the boat, the town or life in Norway. They clearly love their boat and their town. Warm clothing, hot drinks lovely food and ever changing landscape. What more can you ask

Natalia and Halst (?) we're truly great hosts. There were two 8th - graders on work experience as well. All staff made us feel welcome, and there was a great atmosphere on the boat. Cups of tea and coffee were freely available and made for us too. Storied and anecdotes from the older staff kept us interested as we sailed through the stunning scenery of the fjords. We were lucky enough to see a white tailed eagle swooping down after circling the boat for quite some time. Halst threw some fish heads into the water, and we were treated to a spectacle of nature as this enormous creature came down to take the fish head. We also saw some seals in the distance, but we think they were scared off by some horses riding along the shoreline, so sadly, we didn't get to see them up close and personal. All in all, it was a very worthwhile experience.

Great boat trip to see the eagles and views. Also, lovely to hear the history of the area and boat. Friendly staff guiding the tour and providing refreshments.

Absolutely perfect. Peaceful and informative. We even got a warm fish cake snack and hot coffee. Great photo opportunities and learned some history about the local area. Would recommend!
