Alma really knows about art! I learned so much. The walking pace was good. There was an hour break for lunch.

This was an excellent walking tour (with a break for lunch) of 5 hours. Our guide was Paolo who was a native of Florence. The meet up was all as indicated in the booking - no problems. The main reason for taking this tour was to see the David Statue and the Uffizi by skipping the queues. NOTE - even in March you could see the benefit of this with absolute mayhem outside Accademia. Our guide was very good at (simply) explaining the exibits in the Michelangelo gallery room - why there were unfinished examples, what chisles he used and his fixated method of working. Between the two main galleries our guide gave a running history of some of the builings we passed - including asking us to look through windows to see ancient frescoes still in existance. As noted we stopped near the Uffizi for a break / lunch / rest your feet. The Uffizi element made it very plain that is art is your"thing" you probably want all day. We were given a two hour lesson on Florentine Renaissance from Giotto through Michelangelo/Leonardo to Raffael. All well explained using the Medici family history. Almost a kind of information overload but quite an education. Much recommended

Chiara was excellent. She explained art history so well. Museums were not crowded. She offered more history as we had more time given the less crowds. There is time for 1 hour lunch during this tour. Meeting point was easy. The team actually looks out for people for the tour. Flags and bags identifying themselves was easy. We walked to the academia gallery. Lucky we had no lines to get in. We walked past the duomo and then had time for lunch. Uffizi gallery was very intense. So much art to be seen. Wonderful experience. The tour lasted about 5 hrs ( 1 hr for lunch included- plenty of restaurants to sit and enjoy and other places to grab a sandwich and walk around the city for the hour)
