Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe
The trip is unguided, you may just board the train. Jungfraujoch Top of Europe is the best place in Europe to discover a world of snow and ice. The cogwheel railway travels to Europe’s highest railway station every day of the year. The view and adventure platform at 3454 meters above sea level unites in a place that fascinates people of the Alps: a majestic backdrop of ice, snow and rock with breathtaking far-sightedness. Once at the top, Icy air streams across your face, snow crunches under your feet, and the view nearly takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Mittelland up to the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch glacier, bordered by four thousand meter peaks. There are also great shops, restaurants and the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven. The Jungfrau-Aletsch Region was chosen as the first Alpine UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2001.
Depart from Grindelwald: Jungfraujoch Ticket departing from Grindelwald Terminal, Grundstrasse 54, 3818 Grindelwald.
Depart from Lauterbrunnen: Jungfraujoch Ticket, departing from Lauterbrunnen train station, 3822 Lauterbrunnen.

Very popular sight so quite crowded. Also crowded with tourists so the lines and crowds are not the orderly polite groups you become accustomed to while in Switzerland. You will be pushed and jostled if you are there in the busy season. That said it is an incredible feat of engineering that built the tunnel through the mountain as is something not to be missed. If you can, take the hike to the Summit house (3hr walk over snow). Threat gets you away from the crowd We had one hiccup in our trip. Our tickets scanned as half the price tickets when person checking tickets on the train scanned them. I have paid full price and did not have a Swiss half price ticket card. He accepted our tickets once I showed him the booking receipt but it did cause a moment of anxiety. Also would be nice if the tickets gave an option to take the gondola for part of the trip up

This is an outstanding attraction. It takes you on top of all Europe and you get a taste of what is feels like at 12,000 feet on a snowy mountain top. Worth every penny.

Jungfraujoch is a sight to behold and it's staggering the amount of activities that are available for the whole family when you get to the top. Despite that though after having been up there and back I feel the price is a good £60-£80 too high for what you're getting.

This is a pricey ticket that is worth every Franc! The tour at the top is an exceptional self-guided affair. But I would probably try to avoid going in the summer, because when we went in late spring, it was already getting very crowded.

First, poor meeting location. Where do you meet the tour? It says "Interlaken." Wow that's not helpful at all. Where in Interlaken? Doesn't say. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Second, call the Swiss phone number listed on the voucher for help and you get the Jungfrau Bahn which has nothing to do with the tour itself other than selling the train tickets. They can't help you with the meeting place, other than to say that they sell the tickets and who are the popular tour operators. Third, this tour is not being operated by Viator. It's being resold from Best of Switzerland tours. Fourth, the tour says it meets at 10:45am in Interlaken. The reason you meet at 10:45am is so all the people from Zurich, Bern and everywhere else can arrive in Interlaken at 10:45am. If you wait until 10:45am to meet the tour you won't be able to get a train until 11:35am. That literally wastes the day. The Jungfrau Bahn leaves Interlaken Ost starting at 6:35am and goes every 30 minutes. It takes two whole hours to get to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken. If you take the 11:35am train your don't get to Jungfraujoch until 1:35pm, so you will need to turn around in just a short time. Finally, recognize the issue with going so late in the day to the Jungfraujoch is that you will have to deal with huge tour groups, especially the organized ones from China, Taiwan and Korea which tend to be very big. My suggestion if you stay in Interlaken is to go to the train station as early as you can to go up Jungfraujoch. A round trip ticket costs 210 CHF or about US $212. Go up via Lauterbrunnen and return via Grindelwald to see both sides of the mountain trip.
