This tour is a boat trip to Morcote and then a guided “tour” of the city. While the guide was kind and personable and spoke many languages, there just wasn’t enough interesting information to be shared about the town. You’re better off buying a boat ticket and exploring on your own.

A beautiful cruise on the lake and Morcote a lovely place. Required quite a lot of uphill walking to reach the church but views were worth it.

This tour is misleading at best. We had to go to a random information office to get our tickets. The two information girls weren’t really able to answer our questions. We were on a water taxi rather than a 30 person tour boat. There were several “pickups” along the way. It took approximately 50 minutes to get from Lugano to Marcote. Our guide seemed knowledgeable but did some of the tour in multiple languages. Not his fault but we lost interest.

Deborah was a great guide who spoke several languages. She really cared about making our experience as great as possible. It was very easy to find the meeting the meeting spot.

Taking a half day guided tour to Morcote is absolutely worth the trip. The town is such a charming and picturesque tiny Switzerland town. Do expect to walk up flights of stairs.
