We did a moderate hike into the Tongass National park with this awesome guide Aurora. We stopped along the way and Aurora provided us with detailed information about flora and fauna. She was engaging, knowledgeable and very easy to enjoy a hike with.

Dakotah was our guide and he did amazing! He told us a bunch of fun facts about the forest, Alaska in general, history of the totems, and even his personal experiences. He constantly checked on the group to make sure we were okay or needed any breaks. The hike itself was really nice, terrain and hike were good for people who don’t hike often. Highly recommend!

This hike was fabulous, it was a small group (only 6 of us) which made it much easier to talk with our guide and take in our surroundings and I think we only saw about a dozen or so other people on this trail. The forest is beautiful and there was a stream that passed through at one point, we saw an 800 year old tree as well. Let me say this, Abigail was our guide and she was absolutely fantastic, she has so much information on the environment surrounding you during the hike as well as many stories regarding her experiences here over the last two years, highly recommend this excursion!!

This adventure was our favorite while cruising in Alaska. There’s limited time to experience nature with just a few hours in port, but this was the perfect outing. Sadie, our guide, picked us up at the cruise dock and drove us into the Tongass National Forest. She was very personable, talkative and knowledgeable about Sitka and Alaskan nature. She brought us into a beautiful mountain valley where we began our hike up to Beaver Lake. It was truly beautiful in every aspect. As a temperate rainforest, we viewed waterfalls all around, tall wooded forests, muskeg bogs and beautiful Beaver Lake. Sadie was a fully competent and patient hiker/guide. She provided information all along the way, pointing out waterfalls, fauna, and trees, describing each one and answered all of our questions. It was one of many rainy days in the Alaskan rain forest and this only added to the natural beauty of the area. We fully recommend Sitka Walking Tours & Sadie as your guide. This was a moderate and wet hike, but with the proper rain gear, it was a great day in Sitka, Alaska.

Brie was a fantastic guide who is extremely knowledgeable and a native of Sitka. The meeting spot is really convenient and located right where the cruise ship shuttle drops off and picks up.
