The world's leading museum of urban transport, invites you to join us on an exclusive guided tour of one of the most iconic stations on the London Underground: Piccadilly Circus station which opened in 1906.
This timeless grade II listed building serves over 40 million passengers a year in style. Redesigned by celebrated architect Charles Holden and reopened in 1928 it was nicknamed the “New Heart of London”.
Visitors will go behind secret doors, to passageways and lift shafts closed to the public since 1929 and discover the original Edwardian design features, the fascinating stories of wartime sheltering and top-secret storage of priceless artefacts. Piccadilly Circus offers a unique perspective of how the London Underground has grown and adjusted to Londoners’ needs for over a century.
All Hidden London tours are written by historical experts from London Transport Museum and based on content drawn from the Museum’s extensive archive and collection.

5.00Sophie Louise and Antony were our amazing guides and safety team. So knowledgeable and enthusiastic it was engaging and fun. Very cool to disappear behind the service doors at stations with our hidden London lanyards. Definitely want to come back and do more tours. Thank you! Loved it.

5.00Being from the United States and and an area of there that has not underground. I am fascinated with the London Underground. I learned of these tours from social media. The time allotted for the tour is great. I dont want to spoil to much but they cover the background of the station from a couple angles. This makes it more enjoyable. They are sure to point out the neat things or objects of each station. I did three different locations on my visit and they are all worth it.

5.00It was a very interesting and informative tour walking through areas that have been closed to the public for almost 100 years. The tour guides were awesome and really knowledgeable. They were enthusiastic and provided a great experience!

5.00Incredible tour seeing a part of the Piccadilly underground. The tiles and signs were original from 1906. The hosts were knowledgeable and professional, teaching us so much about people who slept there during The Blitz!

5.00Excellent visit to the Piccadilly Circus disused Underground station! The guides were really good - friendly and knowledgeable. Fascinating insight not only to past underground building and use, but also how it has moved forward to today. Will definitely seek out some other stations to visit!
