I am SO glad I decided to do this activity! I was initially a bit intimidated by the idea of a 2(ish) hour hike on a glacier, but called Viator and confirmed that the hike would be easy. I took a chance and am so glad I did! Walking on the glacier was a lifetime experience and I couldn't recommend doing it more. If you're in Anchorage and have the time, you should definitely add this to your bucket list! Also, our tour guide Dan was great!!!

Great views and local insights topped with a wine, vinegar and honey tasting with a local small business owner. This is a great tour. Dan regaled us with local info and animal encounters on our drive to the glacier. Nick taught us history and how the glacier forms and moves as we hiked across frozen river and overflow up onto 500-700 year old ice. We traversed cracks, squeezed into crevasses and some even slid down a natural slide into an ice cavern. We ended our tour with the honey, vinegar and wine before heading back into Anchorage. What a great day!!!

Really great tour, well worth the time. Amazing time hiking on centuries old, 500 foot thick glaciers. A few things to note -- you make a stop on the way up to the glacier to pick up to-go lunch from a local grocery store. You could also pack your own lunch. Our tour guide and driver was super friendly, very knowledgeable about Alaska and the local sights and history. After the hike you stop in a local coffee shop to eat your lunch, (and they do have a microwave available if you want to warm it up). Then on to a mom and pop local honey and wine maker. This is a low pressure and fun tasting, but they do have product for sale there if you want to buy it. Overall, it was a great experience, we highly recommend. Was one of the highlight of our Alaska trip!
