  We absolutely loved it. The detail is incredible. The gardens are gorgeous. The entire experience felt so immersive and delightful. It was beautiful and exciting. We do the Second Breakfast feast with movie set tour and had such a great time. Awesome feast, too!

  A magical must-do experience! The Hobbiton Movie Set Walking Tour from Shire's Rest completely exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like stepping straight into Middle-earth. The tour was beautifully organized, and our guide was fantastic-full of fun facts, behind-the-scenes stories, and genuine enthusiasm that made the whole experience even more special. Walking through the rolling green hills, seeing the Hobbit holes up close, and visiting iconic spots like Bag End was absolutely surreal. Every detail is perfectly maintained, making it feel so authentic and immersive. Finishing the tour with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn was the perfect touch and really brought the whole experience together. Whether you're a fan of the films or just love stunning scenery, this tour is 100% worth it. Truly unforgettable-5 stars without a doubt!

  We absolutely loved our second breakfast experience at Hobbiton. We (the parents) were even more excited than our son to visit (we are fans of Tolkien's and Peter Jackson's work). We really felt like were were transported into Middle Earth and remembered watching the movies on first release back in the 00s. Ellen was a fantastic guide; engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining, shared many wonderful behind the scenes stories with us and responded to all our questions. Second breakfast at the mill was also fun, as we sat down with everyone to share food and drinks, just like Hobbitses. Given its size, the site is very well maintained, everyone is very friendly, the sets and gardens were fantastic (good job to everyone keeping it in such a good condition!), and the opportunity to get inside a Hobbit house was surreal (thanks to all the people who were asking for it over the years); our son was asking if he could stay there forever. The 3-hour tour (including the second breakfast) was ideal; we never felt rushed and being the first ones at Hobbiton early in the morning without the crowds made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was such a memorable experience and definitely the highlight of our trip to New Zealand, which we have been dreaming of for a quarter of a century. “Alone, it's just a journey. Now adventures, they must be shared.”

  The tour was very well organised and the guide very helpful. I dont know much about the books/films - unlike the rest of the family, but enjoyed it very much.

• If you only do 1 touristy thing in NZ it has to be Hobbiton. Pick a fine day to make it perfect, but would still be great on any
