Hoi An people believe that hanging lanterns in front of their house brings luck, happiness, and wealth to the family. To start, you will have a chance to enjoy our herbal tea and listening to the master to talk about the history and the culture of Hoi An Lanterns.... Our Lanterns are made of silk and bamboo and come in many shapes such as lotus, diamond, sunrise, sunset. Covers the complete 11 steps in making your own lantern: Step 1: Attach 12 bamboo stakes together with wire thread Step 2 and 3: Shape the stakes into a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) formation Step 4: Insert the bamboo stakes into a hanger and secure the stakes with thread Step 5: Select your desired silk and color Step 6: Apply glue and let it dry Step 7: Set silk and stretch the silk to cover the stakes Step 8: Fully cover the sides with silk Step 9: Cover the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips Step 10: Select a tassel for the lantern base Step 11: Finished! Your lantern can also be folded and stowed in your luggage to be brought home And the master will make one more lantern for you like the special gifts from them at the end of the class.

Six ladies let loose in a lantern making class! The look of concentration on our faces was hilarious! We were guided step by step through the processes & surprised ourselves with the results. The staff were jovial, helpful & friendly. Because the lanterns fold down, they’ll be easy to pack in our suitcases. A fab experience & a lantern to remember it!

This is a MUST if you are in Hoi An! SO Much fun and a great activity. You make your own lantern from start to finish and get to customise it however you want. It’s actually quite tricky but the team help you along! Well worth the money

This was a really good experience making a lantern from scratch. If you’re worried about making one, the staff are very helpful, skilled and make sure you get it right. There are so many options as to what you want to make, choose your own adventure!

I wanted a lantern for a souvenir, but instead of buying one I chose to make one. I don’t regret my decision at all. It was so fun to make the lantern and the family run business was well organized!! Highly recommend this activity

Great experience. It's a family run business and the staff were super helpful with a great sense of humour. The choice of materials to cover your latern with is HUGE. The lanterns collapse down to be much more suitcase friendly. Such a great way to spend 2 hours.

This was so fun and so well run by the local family who owns and runs. They had so many happy young adults there to help and keep the process going. The end result of a beautiful colorful lantern was wonderful

It was a very fun experience, and I would highly recommend it. They are very cheerful and helpful and also fix any little mistakes you make at each step. I had a very good time and I would definitely come again in the future if I am back in Hoi An.

I initially had zero interest in making a lantern but so glad I did it. I would recommend the experience. It was informative and fun to do the staff were extremely helpful plus the take home lantern is a bonus. Great experience do give it a try.

We had a wonderful morning making lanterns. Anyone can learn as they are very good at instructing and helping. You build the whole lantern out of bamboo and then choose your fabric to cover it. Choose the longer session. Husband loved it too and we have great memories to take home now.
