To be honest one the best experiences I had since my arrival in Japan. Authentic experience with a fascinating history to learn about! The staff are just amazing and welcoming and full of energy which made it extremely enjoyable. I truly loved it and highly recommend anyone who visits kyoto to try it. ITS A MUST VISIT IN KYOTO.
If you like Katana, this is a good choice to visit.

Friendly and elegant staff. The atmosphere and equipment were very satisfying. She polished the operations and grabbed the victim's wet sponge. The diagnosis was also given the opportunity to touch in a very safe and interesting way. The explanation of history and values was easy to understand and enjoyable.

Amazing experience. The entire staff is extremely competent and friendly and you get a real insight of the old samurai tradition. The hands-on experience with real japanese masters brings you right in the game, to discover this ancient martial art !

This was really really cool ! You feel almost 1.5 hours like a Samurai. You are dressed like him and learn how to use the sword. You are also in a real Samurai house. EXELLENT !

Our Kyoto Samurai Experience was incredible. We learned about samurai history, the philosophy behind their discipline, and how to properly handle a katana while maintaining a calm, zen mindset. The instructors and translators were engaging, knowledgeable, and made the experience enjoyable and easy to follow. We also met some great people along the way. My husband and I are truly grateful for this experience and will definitely return with our family. Highly recommended when visiting Kyoto.

Such an amazing experience with our 13 year old and great history behind what a Samurai is! We loved it. My son absolutely was in AWE with the sword stand they were real-you even got to hold them and use them.

This was the most authentic and “non-touristy” tourist activities I’ve ever experienced, in any country. The Instructors are all legit masters of the sword, and they put on flawless performances of Japanese sword mastery. Their instruction was clear, concise and polite; all in Japanese through very professional polite interpreters. There were people of all different ages and levels of physicality in attendance, but the instructors made everyone feel included, and everyone was able to perform the basic cuts with real katana. My interest in Zen and Bushido was re-ignited by this experience. The traditional house and property is a true historic samurai residence, and these classes help to preserve it. I could have spent all day there.
