The experience ends with Zen meditation and the chance to hold an antique samurai sword—connecting body, mind, and history. Thoughtfully designed, it offers a powerful introduction to the enduring spirit of the samurai.

This turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences of our trip. The location is tucked away in the backstreets of a Kyoto neighbourhood in an unassuming house. All the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful from start to finish. We were dressed in traditional clothes and had some practice sessions before getting to cut soaked foam with real samurai swords. Afterwards there was a short Zen meditation, which we really enjoyed too. The staff also took photos throughout with their DSLR camera and sent them all to us afterwards free of charge. The photos were brilliant and they captured some fantastic action shots! The whole experience felt incredibly authentic and personal, with a small group that made it feel really intimate. So glad we did this!

It was a very authentic experience, totally worth it even though it is a bit more exepensive than others. I would definitely recommend it, it is very professional and you really feel like you're learning the history, the swords, meditation. It remains the no.1 experience during our 2 weeks trip to Japan

We started with an introduction, then got dressed, got a little show and then started our samurai experience. Very cool and interesting experience! Had a meditation session afterwards and got to inspect + ask questions about two katanas who were over 600 years old. The class was led by a Japanese guy with a lot of knowledge and was translated for us to English by their translators so we could all understand. Truly amazing and definitely recommend.
Had a demonstration, practiced with wooden swords and got to use a real sword.

This was a wonderful experience. The location, in the family home of a former samurai with all of its history was perfect. All of the staff were amazing and helpful. All activities were conducted with safety in mind. Those swords are really sharp!

Just tried on some samurai gear and it was seriously awesome! Learning about the katana and actually holding one felt so cool. The whole experience was such an adrenaline rush! I totally recommend it if you ever get the chance. Definitely a highlight of my trip!

The samurai experience was a highlight of the trip to Kyoto. It was so interesting to learn about the history of samurai and a unique opportunity to get an introduction to the martial art Iaido with a Katana.

Incredible experience in an authentic samurai house! We got to hold and cut with actual katanas after we were shown the proper technique and we even got to hold some swords that were 400-600 years old! Highly recommended for anyone that loves katanas/samurai.
