My wife and I had been communicating with Krista, at Latvian Gem, since April. I was interested in both this tour, and the Iron Curtain Adventure tour. The Latvian Gem website was discovered with a google search. I am so glad we discovered them. The communication I had with Krista, and Latvian Gem for the months leading up to our arrival, was wonderful. Everything was arranged wonderfully. We were picked up from our Riga accommodation by Krista, introductions were made, and off we went. We had a 3pm start time for our Ligatne bunker guided tour. Krista got us inside, got us our tickets, and guided us towards one of the two guides that would be leading us this afternoon. We had Oscar as our bunker guide. He was great, and the bunker tour was fantastic. After the tour, Krista drove us around the Ligatne area, showing us some amazing sites. And not just showing, but also explaining to us all about what we were seeing and visiting. She then took us to a quaint restaurant nearby,. That too was wonderful. Both the location, and the food and drink. Afterwards we made the drive back to our accommodation. We would be seeing Krista once again the next morning, for another Latvian Gem tour. Krista to us was not only a tour guide, but a friend. This tour, and the next days tour, were our favorite parts of our 3 week Baltic states trip.
Unfortunately cancelled, but tour operator arranged an alternative trip.

Tour was unfortunately cancelled due to low participation numbers (2ns week of September seemed to be in the down-season). However the tour operator did endeavour to get me on an alternative tour, where I went to Lithuania (Hill of Crosses, a Baroque palace and a Medieval castle).
