3.00I have learnt few things from my vacation in Maldives. 1. If you are staying at one resort, travelling to another is not easy and costly. Mode of transportation is either by boat or seaplane 2. This activity is centred at Maafushi and our resort is at Vaabinfaru. You will need to get someone to arrange for boat transfer and in our case, luckily our resort is only 25 mins from airport. It costs USD35 from our resort to airport, and from airport to Maafushi another USD 35. This is for one pax, mind you 3. To go to Maafushi, the connection is at airport so from airport, take another boat. Therefore time your transfer in advance and the boat is not like every 15 mins. It’s probably only 2 or 3 boats in a day. 4. It was raining very heavily on the day we are supposed to do our excursion. We don’t have good flexibility since we have also booked boat back to resort at particular time. So, it’s either to go ahead and get wet in the rain or forego what has been paid. I asked for some refund and they refused. 5. In Maldives, unless you are staying at Maafushi itself then this activity is fine. Otherwise it’s cheaper to do it at your resort. Depending on where you stay the boat ride may take quite long ie more than 1 hour. I have learnt that the moment you go to your resort, it’s like you are expected to wine, dine and play at the resort for the whole duration. 6. Due to rain we did not enjoy the jet ski and forego the fun boat. We went back to our resort and ended up paying another hefty sum to go for another round of jet ski at resort itself.
