Once at the top, our local guides from Valley Isle Excursions will set you up for the best experience—pointing out incredible viewing locations, sharing tips for seeing the sunrise, and telling stories about the history of the island.
After sunrise, we’ll take a short tour of the remainder of Haleakala National Park and the nearby ranch lands.

5.00Waking up at 12:30 a.m. to drive up to the summit of Haleakalā was totally worth it. Watching the sun rise above the clouds, from 10,000 feet up, felt surreal — like witnessing the Earth wake up. The colors, the silence, the energy… it’s something you have to feel to understand. A huge shoutout to our driver Billie, who was incredibly kind, professional, and full of fascinating knowledge about the volcano, Hawaiian culture, and the island's history. He truly elevated the experience.

5.00Had a wonderful time with Billy as our driver and guide! He was very patient as my family was running a little late for pick up and didn’t make us feel bad about it but was very understanding. He was very personable, friendly, kind, and professional and shared both personal stories and information pertinent to our Haleakala Tour, in addition on how to pick a ripe pineapple and choose the best tasting fish in a restaurant! The sunrise experience was not disappointing and it was very beautiful to watch the horizon become different shades of orange as the sun slowly rose in the sky. It was extremely windy with almost constant strong wind gusts the whole time and the ponchos that were provided helped greatly as it was also very cold at that high altitude. The whole family really enjoyed this time with Billy as he helped make this a very memorable experience for each of us! Thank you, Billy, and many blessings to you and your family on your future adventures! Kindly, The family of six in the back of the bus.
