  Fabulous tour to Milford Sound with the very informative Murray. From start to finish it was amazing. We had several stops en route with bush and nature walks. Murray kept us engaged with lots of interesting facts on flora and fauna and entertained with his sense of humour. We got very lucky with plenty of rain and saw some spectacular waterfalls on the Sound and the journey back to Te Anau. Highly recommend this tour with Luxe Tours.

  We had a great day out on our tour to Milford Sound. Our driver/guide, Murray, was friendly and extremely informative on the way to Milford Sound giving us a fairly constant narrative of the geology, geography, botany and wildlife of the region as well as a few stories of the locals. We stopped at several interesting locations/beauty spots and even had a short walk through the forest to see some of the flora and fauna close up. He generally allowed us to rest on the way back. Milford sound itself is absolutely stunning. It’s not as long as the Norwegian or Alaskan fjords but makes up for it in shear splendour. 2 hours on the water was just about right.

  This was a fantastic day out and a wonderful experience in a holiday of great experiences. Ian our driver/guide picked us up promptly, greeted us personally and introduced us to other members of the group. There was only 6 other people so it felt quite intimate. The minibus was very comfortable with expansive views. Ian was great all day, just the right amount of patter, information and helpfulness - taking photos and seeing us onto the boat and settled. New Zealand is a land of great scenery but Milford Sound and the drive there topped it all. We had plenty of stops to explore on the way and take photos. And then the cruise - omg it was amazing, we had the best weather - blue skies and sunshine. We enjoyed the food we had ordered washed down with a drink from the bar and then we spent the rest of the cruise outside on the deck at the front of the boat.   A perfect day trip: in bright sunshine we were picked up on time and accompanied by our tour guide and driver Ian well through the day. He showed us the most beautiful places to photograph and look at the impressive flora. The tour bus was very comfortable and clean. The boat trip at Milfordsound a great experience.   Glorious sunny day, small bus and group was great. Driver Johnny was lovely. A safe driver with interesting information. Plenty of photo stops and a lovely Beech Forest walk on the way to the boat. Everything was seamless and Milford Cruise was stunnning. Gluten free catered for, back in Te Anau by 6 pm. Local business goes the extra mile.

  What a great experience with did our NZ trip to celebrate my mums 90th Birthday this trip was the highlight the care and attention that our guide Ian took with my parents was exceptional and just elevated the whole experience for us Luxe provide an elite level experience

  We don not do much small group touring but found Luxe Tours very organised, flexible and our driver / guide Ian was fantastic. Can highly recommend to anyone considering, a memorable day and experience on the way to and in Milford Sound

• An excellent rainy day to visit Milford Sound.

  It was raining the day we were scheduled to go to Milford Sound, but people said it was better on a rainy day as all the temporary waterfalls appear, both enroute through the Fiordland National Park, and in the fjord itself. We were in a 12 person van, but we only had 9 people including the driver, so we had some space to spread out. Suffice to say it was a very wet drive with many view spots to stop and take photos, so we did make things damp getting in and out of the van. But our driver Ian was always Johnny on the Spot with umbrellas for us to use at the stops, and the drive, which was several hours included toilet breaks and a tea and muffin stop took about 3 hrs up to Milford Sound and about 2+ coming back. The views are quite breathtaking along the drive and worth the trouble of hopping on and off. The cruise out the fjord on the boat was spectacular and all the scenery was worth the rain! We made some other stops on the way back and Ian provided interesting commentary throughout both the long rides. Would it have been more comfortable if it had been sunny? Yes.
