5.00This is an absolutely fabulous museum about the origins, course, and aftermath of the Revolutionary War. We were planning to spend a couple of hours, ended up spending most of the afternoon there. Well laid out, its the first time I was able to make sense of all the famous parts of our history (July 4, tea party, Lexington/concord, Delaware river, Yorktown, etc) and how they fit together. Highlight is seeing Washington’s tent, but so much more to see too. Especially with the 250th coming next year, this place is worth visiting. What some reviewers call “woke” are parts of the story focusing on enslaved and Native American populations; these parts are interesting and balanced, and are part of the story I didn’t learn in school. So I learned a lot, and you will too. Audio guides were helpful, easy to use.

5.00Really nice musem; divided into sections that show different areas of the time period. Interesting emphasis on the African Americans and their contributions. Location is great, close to the historical area and very close to our hotel. I suggest the Audio recorder option. Gives a few more details. My favorite find was the rifle engraved "No Slavery" which shows the real life example of an African American Revolutionary Solider.

4.00Lots of written information to absorb, peppered with intermittent video and static displays. We thought there was too much to read and a lot of it is repeated. There is an audio tour option, but more visual or live interpretation would break up the large amounts of text which is in the same font and background throughout. More variety of information delivery would improve the overall experience. Allow at least two hours for the whole tour, but you can leave and return the same day which is a great option. There are plenty of lockers for hire so you don’t have to carry large bags around,we really appreciated this! Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the limited live interpretation was delivered with clarity and heart. We loved this.

5.00Best to take audio tour ask how it works and see Washington's Tent movie. I had issue following where to be when using audio to hear about what I was viewing.
