This experience is perfect for beginners wanting to understand art. Absolutely brilliant and ideal introduction to the eras of art. Sandy knows his art history and clearly passionate. Blessed with the NGVs available pieces to compliment this historical overview. Melbourne is so fortunate to have the NGV and their marvellous collection. Highly recommended.

My visit to the NGV was to view the French Impressionism collection from the museum of Fine Arts, Boston was one of the best experiences of my life-long love of art and visiting art galleries and special exhibitions. It was an enlightening exhibition, showing the gradual development of impressionism, but it radical divergence from the traditional. Each gallery reflected the intimate environment in which these masterpieces would have hung in the private homes of the wealthy and the intellectual members of Boston society and added to the wonder of an enlightened age where people were looking for change and a freshness of approach to art and their appreciation of the natural world. The publication which showed the entire catalogue of paintings was also a great investment.

Sandy was an amazing guide. Very passionate and knowledgeable. We spent 3.5 hrs walking around the gallery looking at the different art periods. Sandy was able to explain in great detail how one art period was different from the next. As an emerging painter I feel I’ve gleaned a great wealth of knowledge. Thanks so much Sandy. I will long remember this day.

Best experience I have had in a Gallery. Sandy was terrific. His knowledge, courtesy, background experience, interpretation of the works, not rushed in his allocation of time allowed me to immerse myself in each piece of art we experienced. Highly commend the value of the personal guide and Sandy in particular. Truly my best experience of my 4 days in Melbourne.

It was a visit well worth . Sandy was immensely knowledgeable about his work and I managed to learn many new things and the knowledge I gained inspires me to look into many new different areas , specially because I myself is an artist. I would recommend Sandy to anyone who’s interested in learning about art going back in history and discovering the roots for personal growth and development.

I learnt so much from Sandy. I love the handout that he provided. Such a succinct summary on early western arts and what to look out for when looking at an art piece. He puts me at ease and patiently answered all my questions. Definitely worth the money spent! Highly recommended
To appreciate and analyse art more closely. Gave me the skills to enter any art gallery and assess and appreciate art.

Sandy was amazing, I was on my own as a beginner to really understand art...he explained so much and absolutely has armed me with the tools to look at and appreciate art. I will most certainly go and look at some other pieces around the world just on information and interest Sandy has instlled in me. Thank you I love my tour with you.
