  Our guide, Georgi, was absolutely amazing! From the moment the tour began, you could tell he truly loves what he does. He was full of energy, super friendly,very cool guy and made everyone feel comfortable right away. His passion for chasing the northern lights was contagious — he didn’t just take us to a good spot, he made sure we understood what was happening in the sky and shared fascinating facts about the aurora. You can tell that guiding isn’t just a job for him it’s something he genuinely lives for. If you ever come to Tromsø and want to experience the aurora with someone who’s passionate, knowledgeable, and just a really cool guy, ask for Georgi. He made our night absolutely unforgettable

  This adventure was simply amazing! Given poor weather conditions in Tromso, my partner and I were skeptical about our chances of seeing this gift from nature. However, our crew drove into Finland to increase our chances and did they ever meet and exceed! They know their stuff—and Magdalena was a phenomenal guide! The experience was beyond magical—especially as a way to celebrate our marriage anniversary.

  Thank you Arctic Explorer for the incredible experience. Though the weather was cloudy on that day, the guide Georgi and team went beyond to ensure that we saw the Northern Lights. We stopped at 3 locations and had the different views. The whole experience is superb with bonfire and the interesting hot food and drink. Highly recommend Arctic Explorer to anyone wishing to chase and view the Northern lights in Tromsø. 👍🏻

  We had such a fabulous evening (9 hour adventure!) with our guide Magdelena and driver Zoltan. Magdelena made sure we found Auroras in a stormy and cloudy night. Then we had a campfire dinner (unexpected) and roasted marshmallows with our hot chocolate. Everyone had fun and got great photos! WOW! A true night we'll remember the rest of our lives!

  The experience was disappointing from the very beginning. The company sends you a bunch of supposedly funny emails telling you not to call them, not to write to them, that they will find you.The guide arrived 5 minutes late, when in this kind of tour it’s normal to be there 10 or even 15 minutes before the activity starts. The worst part is that the van is old, the seats are small, and it was extremely cold inside. You have to do the whole trip wearing the thermal suits, which is very uncomfortable in that old, tiny van. The guide Petra did everything she could to find the Northern Lights on a cloudy night, but the places where we stopped felt unsafe. Twice we stopped on the side of the road with cars passing by at high speed, and a third time on a quieter road, where we stayed longer next to a river that we couldn’t see — we could only hear it — and it felt like there was a drop or ravine. Since we’re in complete darkness to be able to see the auroras, I found that dangerous. After about 5 hours, we were freezing and just wanted to go back to the hotel, but the guide made a fire and prepared a “dinner” that we really didn’t want at that point. We returned in the minivan completely cold and just wanting to get back. It’s true that Petra did everything she could to take good photos of everyone in the group, but I think what they really need to do is invest in a van with proper seats, turn the heating up, and forget about the campfire part.

  Excellent excursion with very knowledgeable guides who were excited about the lights too. The lights were already on display before we even left Tromsø, so out main task was finding a good stopping area. We travelled about 1.5 away from the city, stopping at 1 location within 20 minutes or so as activity kicked up a notch, getting photos, before moving on. We stopped at another area briefly and then made our way to our final stop where the sky exploded. Obviously this cannot be predicted but our guides knew the best locations and were keeping track of the activity. After lots.of photos, a campfire was set up and we had food and hot chocolates, as well as marshmallows to toast. The sky dancing the whole time. We got to hear about local sami culture and beliefs and our guides Nelson and Magdelena were clearly very passionate about what they do. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I was very impressed by how organised the trip was. The difference between this and one I've been on previously is you go to their office first to try on thermal suits and boots so you're not attempting to change in freezing temperatures. Definitely recommend.

  Incredible experience! We were well looked after from start to finish. We were an entire group of people who had not seen the lights before and Petra went above and beyond to ensure we saw the lights. It was an incredible experience and we love our photos too! Thanks so much again for an amazing evening

  Very wonderful experience with finding openings in an overcast sky for northern lights viewing. Both the driver and the guide were both good at pointing out areas in the sky to look at. Decent bathroom breaks on both ends of the chase. The only issue I would report is that there is no microphone on the bus and people in rear of the bus have a hard time understanding questions and conversations between driver/guide and front rows of the bus
