Beautiful scenery, nice enough guide who gave great overview and details. He was great as was the boat ride. Van was crowded and very uncomfortable. Using the term "premium" is stretching it. Expecting everyone to be available immediately to get boarding passes and lunch bags before using the toilets is not reasonable. Not enough toilet breaks on the return trip home.

Amy was an exceptional tour guide! Being picked up in Te Anu with stops along the way was the way to go. She provided a lot of insight and made the experience fun and relaxing. The boat had plenty of space to have good vantage points of all the views. It’s a must do on your trip to New Zealand.

Steven, our guide, was exceptional. He happily shared his extensive knowledge of Te Aneu and Milford Sound. He was a joy to converse with. The lunch provided by Steven hit the spot. He also offered the passengers water and snacks. Milford Sound is a must see experience.
Definitely do this tour from TeAnau instead of Queenstown!

100% recommend doing Milford sound from TeAnau instead of Queenstown. We were an hour ahead of the crazy crowds & traffic, and cut 4 hours of drive time off the day--it made such a big difference! We liked the smaller bus experience. It was easier to tailor the stops to our liking, ask questions of our guide, and to keep together and on schedule. As for the boat portion, our group joined other groups on an assigned boat, which was basically the same size as the other your boats. Not a small group experience at all. Still got close to waterfalls and seals, though. Lunch and snacks were offered to us right before we boarded the boat, so I would recommend bringing your own snacks and water for the ride there, if you need them. Our bus driver/guide, Steven, was amazing! His knowledge of the history, culture, economy, geography, and biology of the area was fascinating!

We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Our guide Steve was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the area’s history, wildlife, and geography. His passion for Fiordland made the experience even more engaging and enjoyable. Everything was well-organised, from the early start (which meant we avoided the big crowds) to the delicious lunch and thoughtful stops along the way. Couldn’t have asked for a better day—highly recommend!
