Arashiyama
TOGETSUKYO BRIDGE The most recognizable feature of Arashiyama is the Togetsukyo Bridge, also known as the "Moon Crossing Bridge". It was most recently rebuilt in the 1930s after being created during the Heian Period (794–1185). The bridge appears especially lovely against the backdrop of the wooded slope. Adjacent to the bridge is a riverbank park dotted with scores of cherry trees. HAMMOOSE GROVES Nice walks and bicycle rides can be had along the walking routes that go through the bamboo trees. When there is a light wind and the long bamboo stalks softly move back and forth, the woods become very picturesque. Bamboo has been utilized for generations in local workshops to make a variety of goods, including mats, cups, boxes, and baskets. SANSO VILLA OKOCHI This is
Kinkakuji Temple
The upper two floors of the Zen temple Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), located in northern Kyoto, are entirely coated with gold leaf. Originally called Rokuonji, the temple served as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu's retirement residence. Following his death in 1408, the shogun left it as a Zen temple belonging to the Rinzai sect. Throughout its history, it has burned down multiple times, twice during the Onin War, a civil war that devastated a great deal of

Dhanu was a wonderful guide. He had an entire day planned for us that we completely blew up because there were other things my kids wanted to see and do. He was so gracious and made every accommodation! He suggested a completely new itinerary including all of our activities and customized our experience! We only had a few hours and he managed to pack in everything we wanted to do and got us back to the train station on time. I would recommend him to anyone looking to customize their experience in Kyoto. Just give him some advance warning lol!

Dhanu was a great driver and helped us see far more in one day than we thought would be possible! He was very knowledgeable about the sites and Japanese customs, which added a lot to our day. We got so many amazing pictures and memories to last a lifetime. Thank you!

Nice tour guide but would have liked it if he knew more of the history, but we had a great time and saw so many sites… thank you

Guide=driver with cell phone in hand Luxury=cigarette smoke smelling minivan English-speaking=understood some english but no education about sites we visited If I had understood the above translations I'd have looked for something else. Understanding those translations now it was passable but not what I had hoped for.

The guide never showed and we waited for 45 min in our lobby. Perhaps there was an accident or good reason but they didn't offer anything to make up for this mistake
