Charlotte Amalie

Charlotte Amalie, the capital and largest city of the U.S. Virgin Islands, situated on St. Thomas was founded in 1666 as Taphus, it was renamed in 1691 after Danish queen Charlotte Amalie. The city boasts a deep-water harbor that was historically a pirate haven and is now a major cruise ship port, receiving over 1.5 million passengers annually. Historically, the area was inhabited by Caribs, Arawaks, Ciboney and Taíno native peoples before Columbus arrived in 1493. The city features Danish colonial architecture and landmarks such as St. Thomas Synagogue, Frederick Lutheran Church, Blackbeard's Castle, Bluebeards Castle and Fort Christian. A copy of the Liberty Bell and freed slave blowing a conch shell are in Emancipation Park, which is both a source of national pride and a tourist attraction.

Brewer's Bay

Brewers Bay - Brewers Bay is a gem hidden in plain sight. Its sun-drenched shore is presided over by lush green hills on the right, and the University of the Virgin Islands campus on the left. It’s one of the calmest beaches on St. Thomas and the water is clear as crystal. It is a favorite for Green Sea Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. The seafloor is mostly sand, and it deepens gradually providing an easy sloped entry. The combination of clarity, calmness and a sandy bottom make it great for wading and swimming.

I'm so so glad we did this!! Scott was top notch, very down to earth, and showed us so many cool places!! I could not have asked for a better day. I can't even explain how much I admire what they have created here for people. Scott's fiancé was also a gem, amd she's the one who made us rum punch for our trip. That was delicious. What a cool day!! If you're questioning weather or not to book this, trust me!!! Book it!! Well worth the money

Scott is incredibly informed on island life and will provide highlights throughout. We went all over the island to beaches, mountaintop and shops. He is a great person and great guide. Scott is a must book!

Scotty, owner and operator of Tropic Sun Jeep Adventures, picked us up at the port of Royal Caribbean and took us to a most beautiful remote beach where he set up beach mats, chairs, snorkel gear, a cooler with water bottles and rum punch. Showed us cute tiny beach crabs crawling around and told us to enjoy the beach for as long as we wanted. After snorkeling and enjoying the views, collecting a couple of unique stones we went exploring. Scotty showed us some pretty amazing views at multiple points around St. Thomas. Mountain Top which is the second highest peak of St. Pete’s Mountain had spectacular views of Magens Bay, little Tabago(BVI) and Great Tobago, Tortola and even St John I believe. They also serve the World Famous Banana Daiquiri, made with a blend of Cruzan Rum. They also boast Duty-Free shopping with very knowledgeable individuals to help you find unique clothing, jewelry and gifts. The most beautiful jewelry of our cruise I saw here! This excursion was awesome for seeing a variety of St. Thomas - I will hire Tropic Sun again when we return to St. Thomas.

Scott was very friendly, kind and accommodating. His conversation was fun and informative. He knows the island and current issues of the day, off-road beaches and breathtaking viewpoints. He customizes to whatever your desires and provides good snorkeling gear, floaters, chairs and delicious drinks.

Absolutely loved our private Jeep tour of St. Thomas! Our guide was awesome—super friendly and full of fun facts about the island. We got to see all the must-see spots plus a few hidden gems we never would’ve found on our own. The views were unreal, saw crystal clear water, sea turtles and sipped on yummy rum punch. It felt like exploring with a local friend instead of being on a big tour bus. 100% recommend if you want a fun, laid-back way to see the island! 🌴☀️🚙

Scott has a great vibe! The weather didn’t really cooperate for our day on the island, yet we still had a great tour and learned a lot and still got to visit a secluded secret beach in between rain showers! We also hit the mountaintop and had the famous banana daiquiri! It was so nice having the freedom a knowledgeable private guide can provide, especially when you’re limited on time. Highly recommend!

We were able to hit the must sees in St Thomas in half a day including a secluded beach all to ourselves. Scott was a great guide, laid back and full of information about the island. Highly recommend!

This was an awesome tour around St. Thomas. Scott did an excellent job tailoring our tour to us personally. He was very knowledgeable about the island and able to answer our questions in detail. The sights he showed us were beautiful all over the island and he gave the history of them if there was one. He gave us plenty of time to look around, take pictures, and get souvenirs of the different spots if that was what we wanted to do. Then, we asked about off the road places to visit, and he took us to a secluded beach. The sand and the water here were beautiful. We then asked about local cuisine, and he took us to a place to get some jerk chicken, which was delicious. This tour was well worth it!!! We would definitely do it again!!!

We enjoyed our tour with Scott. After a day of driving around ourselves, it was wonderful to have someone else chauffeur. He was knowledgeable about the island and ended our tour with a stop at another beach we hadn’t read about- complete with chairs, floats snd drinks! An excellent day! An excellent tour experience!
