With over more than 125 years of history, Fábrica Mel-de-Cana Ribeiro Sêco is a reference in the production of sugarcane syrup, a product that crosses its identity with Madeira Island’s own identity.
Between peak periods and others of less production, sugarcane syrup has never stopped being produced and at the Madeira inhabitants table, especially for Carnival and Christmas. Fábrica Mel-de-Cana Ribeiro Sêco is a factory that protects sugarcane culture as a timeless patrimony of Madeira.
We Partnered with Ribeiro Sêco Company to bring you to this amazing factory and know all about how they produce the syrup honey cake but also, liquors and the sugarcane biscuits.
You will have an offer to taste, liquors, the syrup honey cake, and the biscuits, all made from the sugarcane.
After the Guide tour in the Factory, we will go to a Fortress to see the beautiful view of Funchal.

5.00Today we went with Marco up to The Nuns Valley. Unexpected stop at a family run Sweet Factory (Highlight of the day )! Marco drove well to get us up Twisty Mt roads.+ Down into Nuns Valley. He is SO informative we learnt a great deal from his commentary . Inexpensive 5hours / very Well worth doing. Make your own Itinery as we did today . Go Off Piste and see the Local places the Bigger companies don't visit. We would highly recommended this company + Marco

5.00We had an excellent private half day tour! We stopped at various viewpoints with breathtaking views. When we arrived at the sugarcane mill it was quite busy but luckily we had our amazing guide who knew so much about the place/history so we didn’t miss out on anything. The honey cake biscuits/cake were delicious. Many liquors available to buy in case anyone wants to take some back home. Highly recommend!
