A Fortress from the 18th century was turned into a Jewish ghetto and Nazi political prison in World War II - experience it and learn more about a sad true part of the European history that influenced all the world.
Terezin concentration camp is strategically close to Prague (45-60 min drive). You will learn World War II history - the difference between concentration and death camp, psychology of Nazi propaganda hiding the truth from the rest of the world, Gestapo political prison, individual personal stories, life and culture in Jewish ghetto.
The city is divided into two parts: former Gestapo political prison (later communist prison) and Jewish ghetto presented as "a city given to Jews from Adolf Hitler for the war time". You will see the former Gestapo prison, the Jewish Museum of Ghetto, a Jewish dormitory, the Magdeburg Barracks (Muzeum of culture in the ghetto) and more.
After that you enjoy Czech lunch in a local brewery (included).

Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your Prague place and after 45-60 min of comfortable drive you reach Terezin concentration camp. It is strategically close to Prague. First of all you will be guided through the Terezin Small Fortress that was a gestapo political prison (later a communist prison) - the prison cells, showers and walk through the tunnels of the fortress. Watch the propaganda movie about "Jewish paradise" - fake presentation by Nazis in comparison to cruel reality in the camp.
Terezin Memorial
After visit of Museum of former Jewish ghetto (materials, videos of individual stories of people living in ghetto) you will be guided through Jewish ghetto to experience more of the life in the ghetto. Please note: crematorium, columbarium & ceremonial rooms are closed on Saturdays.

5.00Michal guided us (a German and a Frenchwoman) through Theresienstadt. He empathically imparted his vast historical and cultural knowledge to us and sensitively accompanied us on this historically difficult walk. This was by far (!!) the best private tour we ever had. Also: it couldn't be easier, hotel pickup, comfortable, well-kept, large car, drinks on board and a nice lunch.

5.00What a great tour. Michal was so informative. A very interesting and sobering place to visit. Michal was very punctual, friendly and great to talk to. Great transport and lovely place for lunch. Would definitely recommend this tour, I'm glad we decided to do a private tour.

5.00Michael was amazing! So personable and genuine, it was like taking a day trip with a friend. We all loved him! He is laid back and let's you govern the day you want. We wanted to sleep in some so we went later in the day. Although the tour is a solemn one, we all really enjoyed it! He is very knowledgeable about the subject, picked a wonderful place for lunch, and the transportation there was very comfy. THANKS MICHAEL!!

5.00I had assumed that I would be on a bus with 20 people. Instead it turned out to be a private tour for an extremely reasonable price. Michal was very knowledgeable, had grown up locally, and provided me with a glimpse into Czech life on the way to Terezin. Once we got there, he provided an exceptional tour in the areas that was allowed, and then found me a private tour guide in the areas that were restricted. He tailored the tour to my knowledge and interests. After, he took me to a nearby town for an Czech lunch fit for local culture. All in all this was one of the best tours I have had.
