Pick up was a bit confusing..several Cheeky Kiwi vans all showing up about same time. Some next to Ramada, some across street. Ride was good to Mt. Cook, scenery lovely. Approx 3 hrs to do full track hike. 1 hr to do hike to first bridge..well worth it. Second half of tour to Christchurch was fine…seemed a bit rushed at times. Nice drivers…hard to hear clearly, especially all the way in the back.

The drive was what we expected, long. With a transfer at Mt. Cook midday. We were a bit taken back by our driver Kimberly. When we arrived at Hooker Valley Trail she stated that “she wasn’t a shuttle driver” and would only make one trip in the middle to transport guests back to the village. This made for challenges either the changing weather conditions. With the heavy rains I would have hoped for a more accommodating driver who would be empathetic to the varying needs of the guests. Additionally, I am sensitive to smoke and she stated that she could not do anything about a guest who was smoking close to the van and bringing the odor back into the enclosed van for the long drive. This made for a most unpleasant experience driving to Mt. Cook after a brief restroom stop. The second half of the trip was improved (despite the rain) with the transfer to Cheeky Kea.

Such a great way to get to Christchurch from Queenstown! I did the Mount Cook hike on the way and it was a great hike! The drive is so scenic all the way to Christchurch! We had no issues with transferring bus in Mount Cook. Both drivers were extremely friendly. I had Renee and Will. The shuttle vans were super comfy! I would definitely recommend this way of transport to get to Christchurch!

The first part of this trip was great, our guide gave good commentary and we stopped quite often (a bit too many stops) for food and bathroom breaks. There really was no need for 3 hours in Mount Cook even though it was beautiful, but we only spent 2 minutes in Lake Tekapo! Very imbalanced trip. The second part of the trip was the worst! Our driver had a major attitude problem, gave zero commentary, was listening to his own podcasts as he drove, checking messages and was driving dangerously. He seemed more concerned with his own timeframe than our tour. Barely stopped for drink / bathroom breaks and no snacks offered. Would have been cheaper to book a public bus across the country as this part of the trip was beyond boring. Very disappointed and do not recommend
