Join our talented storyteller at Penn Square's visitors center, where you will begin your journey through historic Lancaster. Don't forget there will be food!
This 3-hour walk through Lancaster's downtown showcases this city's diverse culture offering delicious food samples from several local family-owned eateries. No chain restaurants on this tour. Some special dietary requirements can be accommodated, so let us know prior to your tour.
This all-inclusive tour runs rain or shines during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Sorry, no Winter tours (the guide is not a fan of the cold). Looking forward to meeting you!

Your guide will walk you through the historic Central Market, giving you the lay of the Land of Lancaster and introduce guests to vendors and some of their samples. You will hear stories of Lancasters' character of yester year while sampling goodies from the local eateries. the tour is approximately 2 miles so please wear comfy shoes.

5.00This was worth the price we paid for sure. Our visit to various locations for food and drink was sprinkled throughout with wonderful bits of history about Lancaster...things you wouldn't hear about from a history book! We had some wonderful meat and cheese, delicious donuts and whoopie pies. Also we had some samples of mead and mashed plantains and oh...I can't forget about our pub visit with the brisket in an egg roll. Unfortunately Debbie is retiring to spend time learning of other places in our world so we wish her and her husband well on all their journeys.

5.00We had an incredible time on the Red Rose Walking Food Tour, and it’s easily one of the best food tours we’ve been on! Debbie, our guide, was outstanding – warm, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. She shared fascinating bits of Lancaster’s history that brought the city to life in a way we didn’t expect. The food stops were all thoughtfully selected and delicious, offering a great variety of local flavors. We discovered some hidden gems we never would have found on our own, and even got excellent restaurant recommendations to try later since we are locals now! What made this tour truly special was the personal touch Debbie brought to the experience. It felt more like being shown around by a friend than a typical guided tour. In fact, we even made a new friendship during the tour – something we look forward to growing!

4.00The guide was knowledgeable and was very good at making the history of Lancaster interesting. The tour covered a wide range of food, some of which we loved, and some not so much - but it provided an honest range of available food in the city, and covered some very interesting historical sites (statues, buildings, etc.). Due to the nature of the tour (walking narrow sidewalks) the group was often strung out along the street, with people in the back unable to hear the guide talking. Note that her portable microphone/amplifier wasn't working that day, which made it worse.

5.00Probably the best food tour we’ve experienced (out of several across the U.S.). An excellent blend of food and local history. Seven kinds of food and alcoholic beverage sampling was about right. Then afterwards revisited favorites.

5.00This tour was awesome. Debbie was very knowledgeable of the history of the area, but still kept the atmosphere light and fun. The variety of food was fantastic (especially the brisket eggroll and chai tea ice cream) . Definitely would recommend
