Our tour starts today in the city of Uyuni, the gateway to the Bolivian Salt Flats. Pick-up is from the airport, your accommodation, or any location of your choice. Begin with a short visit to the famed Train Graveyard just out of town. Then, transfer to your stunning RV Camper accommodation located within the majestic Salar de Uyuni about 45 minutes away. On the drive to the RV Camper, you'll get your first glimpse of the glistening salt and the dramatic scenery found in this part of the country. The afternoon is left to choose between a visit to Incahuasi Island - a rocky outcrop covered by giant cacti in the middle of the Salar (dry season) or simply enjoying the surreal scenery near your RV Camper including the otherworldly ‘mirror effect’ (rainy season). If conditions are right, simply step outside of your accommodation to gaze at the magnificent sky tonight.

Today, reunite with your tour leader and spend the morning exploring more of Salar de Uyuni by visiting the lesser-known northern region at the base of Thunupa Volcano (dry season) where amazing sights and some native wildlife await. Alternatively, explore other unique sights such as the ‘stairway to heaven’ (rainy season). In the afternoon, you may take your time for amazing photography and/or visiting other sites such as Playa Blanca or the ‘Salt Springs’. End the day with a jaw-dropping sunset right by your accommodation in the Salar. If conditions are right, enjoy yet another night of stunning stargazing.

Salar de Uyuni

Our last day will allow you to enjoy sunrise (weather-permitting) from right outside your doorstep. After breakfast, take some more time to enjoy the views and photo opportunities that the largest and most beautiful salt desert in the world offers. Then, make your way to the village of Colchani to enjoy a stroll through its colorful market shopping for crafts or mementos. The tour will end back in the city of Uyuni at any location of your choice (airport, hotel, etc.).
