Kilim Geoforest Park
Travel by boat through the twists and turns of the Kilim river through the maze created by aerial roots and thick fleshy leaves of the mangrove trees. We often see mangrove animals that make their home in this delicately balanced ecosystem which is responsible for the health and wide variety of species in the Andaman Sea. We also explore how the mangrove area is a perfect environment for cottage industries such as fish farms. Our first stop is The boatman will stop the engine and throw some chicken pieces out into the water to invite the eagles. And in no time you will see eagles diving down just next to you and clawing up the chicken pieces and eating them as they soar into the sky. As we venture out of the mangroves you will see majestic limestone rock formations and sea stacks that rise dramatically from the ocean. This ancient coral thrust into the sky millions of years ago is home to a unique and ancient group of plants found no where else on earth.

5.00I thought this was excellent value. It was a sharing boat- Fortunately everyone in our group were good people, and the guide (Shah) was amazing and full of knowledge about the wildlife in the area. We covered fish feeding, saw fruit bats, eagles, monkeys, bat caves, and finished with a rest/swim at a stunning beach. The water was so warm. The lunch was small (chicken and rice) but it was fine and kept us going! Whilst this had nothing to do with our tour specifically, I was annoyed at a minority of tourists from other tours 1) teasing/scaring the monkeys to get a reaction out of them, and 2) deciding to feed the monkeys after they had tried to grab food. There are so many signs asking you not to feed them and that they are aggressive, and ignoring this guidance affects other tourists. It's astonishing.

4.00Good: The guides Nash and Natasha were excellent. They were easy to talk to, engaging, knowledgeable and put people at ease. The tour itself was fun, interesting and well worth the time spent. Bad: Pick-up was 40 minutes late. There was confusion as to which tour company was responsible for us and took another 20 minutes to resolve. Lunch was poor, it was dry and we ordered fresh fish that was served over cooked and cold. Overall: Highly recommend the tour, but, avoid the lunch.

4.00Great to see monkeys, bats and eagles. Felt like bahhhh at times as hearded like sheep. There are private tours available but this one did the trick for a fair price. Four boats went out with about 18 people on each and one guide who alternated boats...Nash...good guide. Toilets and lunch substanded on fish farm but hey I've seen worse and didnt go to eat. Beware cheeky monkeys. Although warned one woman opened a bag of crisps while at bat cave dock...gone in 0.01 of a second. Still, guess the monkey liked Doritos. All in all got what paid for and enjoyed the day. Cheers Nash.

5.00This was a great tour. The Park Ranger Shah was very knowledgeable and discussed a lot of safety measures. The tour does take you to a little island for a bit of swimming in addition to viewing a bat cave, an eagle cove, etc. The only confusing bit was finding your table for lunch at the end of the tour. But eventually you will find your spot and meal which consisted of fried chicken, fried rice and a salad.
Great day not to miss… just make sure timings work

5.00Awesome experience… some small things to consider about pickup and time. Great nature - not to miss the boat tour, Eagles, Bat Cave… and great guide and captains. Only watch outs: It is a collective pickup … and if you have no connectivity hard to coordinate (we were picked up 20min late but had no WiFi to communicate). The tour itself is 5 hours… w/o pickup and drop-off … so if you have eg cruise connections, has to be factored in. The guys helped to coordinate in the end and we got our boat … but was a bit of excitement as not clear in description. Overall still 5Stars and recommendations for everyone visiting!

5.00This tour was one of several Viator tours booked while travelling South East Asia. Whilst we were very happy with all other tours ( Vietnam foodie tour, Saigon river cruise) this trip was our favourite. It was great value for money, there was plenty to see throughout the day, the small lunch was delicious and enough and the guides were terrific fun. I would do this tour again next time I’m in Langkawi I loved it so much.

4.00A very extensive tour with lots of wildlife and scenery. The guides and drivers were brilliant and made it lots of fun. The only downsides were poor toilet facilities, and being 30 minutes late for collection in the morning
