Children 6 and under are entitled to free access to the Vatican Museums (with proof of age)
Children aged 7-18 are entitled to a reduced entry fee (see tour and ticket pricing) and must provide proof of age.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
Check-in is 15 minutes prior to the booked start time. Tickets are time sensitive and we cannot accomodate late arrivals.
Important: St. Peter's Basilica is not included in all tour options. If you wish to visit the Basilica as part of your experience, please ensure you select a tour where it is explicitly listed as included.
Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.
Due to the Jubilee, some monuments may be under restoration. Please pay attention to any messages we may send regarding potential changes.
Please include all names as they appear on your passports when booking. Tickets are non-transferable and if the names on your booking do not match your ID you may be denied access and will not be due a refund. Any name changes must be communicated at least 72 hours in advance.
Please bring official ID with you (or a photo/photocopy).
Important: The ‘Basilica Only’ option it does NOT include access to the Vatican Museums.
Important: From January 12 to March 31, 2026, conservation work will be carried out on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment (Giudizio Universale). The Sistine Chapel will remain open to visitors; however, the fresco will be temporarily not visible due to scaffolding. We thank you for your understanding during this important preservation project.

5.00Our guide Marina was amazing, she had a lot of insight and was really sympathetic and funny. I'm really grateful for the experience! A tip, follow marina to the the Basilica, it's through the RIGHT exit from the Sistine chapel!

5.00Having queued about 20 years ago for the Sistine Chapel I can heartily recommend paying for the skip the line option. You get in quick are given relevant information and then left to get on with your visit yourself. Overall I think the ability to book has meant entry is sufficiently staggered these days you can at least walk through at your own pace which is infinitely preferable to the squash I recall on my previous visit.

5.00This is a must do. Best time of year and the best guide , Laura had the best knowledge and a fine command of language I was so impressed. Our tour was smooth and absolutely beautiful. Just do it !!!! We got access to all areas and only six in our group, we practically had her to ourselves.

5.00First, our guide and ease of entry and exit were great. Outstanding work by EcoArt in doing their very best, and our guide was smart, energetic, engaged, and delightful. She was very knowledgeable. The only downside this day and year were the crowds in the museum — it is a Jubilee year and thus more crowded than usual, but some of the rooms were stifling overcrowded. Our guide handled it beautifully and made sure we go into the Square so as to gain entry to the Basilica. The other negative — not enough time — I am sure this is always the case with a tour, even a long one, but the museums are vast and we find ourselves walking briskly past masterpieces when all you want to do is slow down and reflect. The tour is almost too much to absorb in even two to three hours. But I have been to the Museums before and will go again.

1.00The agency didn't honor our tour and mislead us. There were others in the group that had the same experience left They only took us to St. Peter's Basilica. They said the museums and Sistine Chapel weren't included. Our reservations said all 3 were included. You can visit the Basilica without paying or a guide. I'm very disappointed with Viator we will not recommend them.
