Please bring walking shoes, warm clothes and rain jacket.
Please be aware that Milford Sound is a 5 hour drive from Queenstown (one-way with sightseeing stops). This is a full day excursion, and including the 1hr 45min cruise on the fiord, allow approximately 13 hours door to door.
A packed picnic lunch is included in your experience. The default choice is a chicken, however you can request a vegetarian lunch until 5pm the day prior.
Please bring a reusable water bottle on tour with us. There are multiple locations to refill during the day.
The cruise operator requires all passengers need to be able to board and disembark the vessel without assistance in case of an emergency.

Start your day by meeting our friendly local guide at or near your Queenstown accommodation. You'll travel in style in a premium Mercedes van designed for touring with only 15 seats onboard. The first leg of our journey to Milford Sound transports you from Queenstown through the picturesque Southland farming country and the charming town of Te Anau, where we'll make a brief stop by the lakeside for refreshments.

5.00The day before our tour, we were worried about the weather and mentioned it to a local shop owner in Te Anau - her response was, "well, you want to have at least some rain when you go to Milford Sound!!" As it turns out, she was absolutely right. Over the tour, we were joking we experienced every kind of weather. It was raining, it was foggy, it was sunny, it was cold, it was warm... and all of that made Milford Sound trip so worthwhile! Rainfalls were amazing (thanks to rain), and color of the water - well, we saw every color as weather changed! Of course, we were fortunate to have Steve as our guide. His knowledge of everything - not just Milford Sound but also history of the area in general - was so helpful! His nuggets filled in the time between stops, and kept us all entertained. We also appreciated that everything went per schedule despite Steve getting delayed as he tried his best to find a couple who turned out to be a no-show. We were also happy that our allergens were taken care of and we were provided a nice GF lunch. Much appreciated! I know some folks can do this trip on their own. But if it is your first time, you are so missing out! First, driving that road from Te Anau on your own would be so stressful. Second, you are either going to end up stopping everywhere for a picture or not at all - Steve knew exactly where to stop. Finally, that local knowledge I mentioned... priceless.

5.00What a great experience. Do was a perfect guide and great driver on those windy roads. We had lots of stops at gorgeous places on the drive to Milford Sound. Do gave us great narrations along the way. It is a long drive but she made it really fun. Then the boat trip on Milford Sound was breathtaking. So many waterfalls. And a couple of cute seals. Highly recommend.
Definitely worth the trip.

5.00Thomas was a very good driver and contributed many interesting facts along the way to Milford sound. There were ample breaks for site seeing and bathroom use. The coach was clean and I made use of the USB outlet. The cruise along Milford sound was fantastic and worth while. We got to see some fur seals and many waterfalls. I chose the flight back and very happy with the scenery from up above. Great day

5.00The tour was incredible. Our tour guide Thomas was awesome, down to earth and full of knowledge. The journey to Milford was the best bit! Beautiful pit stops along the way, phenomenal scenery and a comfy bus. The boat cruise was breathtaking and the provided lunch was delicious! Thomas drove us back to Queenstown, about 3.5-4 hours but it’s such a beautiful drive that it goes quickly! Would highly recommend, everything was great!

5.00Awesome tour! So much fun and loved the small group. Our tour guide was Ash and he was super helpful. The tour company also answers very quickly and tries to help as much as they can. I left my sunglasses in the van and messaged them to see if I could pick it up and they answered within a couple of hours!

5.00Chelsea was a super guide/interpreter/driver for Milford Sound. She has lots of local experience in Te Anau, which she was glad to share, and we enjoyed hearing. She had a sense of when other groups would arrive at the best photo spots and got us there early. She was able to explain the flora and fauna as we went along to enrich our experience of what we were seeing. Her enthusiasm for the unusual excellent weather was infectious, and influenced our experience in the best way! This was an excellent way to experience Milford Sound and I don’t know what could have gone better.

5.00Absolutely worth your time. Milford Sound is simply amazing. Our wonderful tour guide and driver extraordinaire - Will - made the entire day super fun and enjoyable! It's a long day but he kept the entire van entertained with fun stories, anecdotes and history. And the scenic stops doing the way were a huge bonus. The cruise itself was also excellent with the captain's stories and banter too at you the entertainment!
