Milford Sound is arguably the most scenic destination in New Zealand and a must-see for any traveller. Whether seen in sunshine or rain, the incredible views are guaranteed to leave you awestruck. This is a small group tour for travellers seeking an all-inclusive, uniquely-kiwi, personalised trip to Milford Sound.

We keep things personal using our fleet of modern Mercedes vans. Enjoy your journey with only 16 people, in a vehicle with premium features such as leather seats, panoramic scenic windows, Wi-Fi and Spotify.

Let your Altitude Tours guide entertain you with in-depth knowledge of the area, as we travel from Queenstown through Te Anau and into the Fiordland National Park on the famous Milford Road. Enjoy many scenic photo stops at both famous locations, as well as our guide's favourite off-the-beaten-track spots.

Enjoy a 2-hour small uncrowded cruise while taking in the incredible beauty that Milford Sound has to offer! You can also add on a picnic lunch to enjoy onboard.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels

Please bring walking shoes, warm clothes and rain jacket.

Please be aware that Milford Sound is a 5 hour drive from Queenstown (one-way with sightseeing stops). This is a full day excursion, and including the 2 hour cruise on the fjord, allow approximately 13 hours door to door.

There is an option to include a packed picnic lunch. The default choice is chicken, however you can request a vegetarian lunch until 5pm the day prior.

Please bring a reusable waterbottle on tour with us. There are multiple locations to refill during the day.

Pam is a great tour leader, sharing tons of information about the area. The stops along the way to Milford Sound were good and the interval between stops just right. The boat ride was good and the crew very friendly but narration was difficult to hear if you were outside on the first level. All said, it was a wonderfully enjoyable tour, money and time well spent. We are relatives - 6 adults, in our 60's and 70's.

Milford Sound is an incredible place that everyone should try to visit while they are in New Zealand! We had truly a magical time doing our tour with Altitude Tours, James took care of everything and made the day more special for us to enjoy. I highly recommend you book through them, you will not regret it!

Graeme was an incredible guide and provided us with local knowledge and insight. We stopped at multiple places along the tour that were absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed the small cafe stops along the way as it helped provide a bit of a reprieve for a long day of sight seeing. The lunch that was provided was delicious. We enjoyed the small group and the van that was used as it was very easy to see the sights in every direction. There were also blankets provided on the bus that made it feel cozy. Highly recommend this tour!

Chelsea was THE BEST tour guide! Her passion and knowledge of the environment made for a really engaging experience. She also ensured we had the vegetarian lunches we requested, which was greatly appreciated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour!!! I would also recommend triple-confirming your tour pick-up time with the company to ensure there isn’t any miscommunications.
