What you should know about this tour is that it can be quite physically demanding. The hikes are difficult and involve climbing over rocks, so make sure to wear appropriate shoes.

Beautiful, easy hike down a muddy trail with gravel embedded in it. Wear shoes that grip and have cushioning. Once you reach the river/pool/"home base" you need to climb down slippery roots and rocks to the wide spot in the river. From here it gets difficult for out of shape or overweight people. My son and I continued on to climb over rocks and roots to an elevated area where you can slid down a natural rock "waterslide" where you plunge into a deep pool at the end. Be prepared for your shoes to be soaked. Not for those unsteady in their feet. My wife made it half way and could not continue the climb. The only way down is to jump off the cliff into the 20 foot deep pool. She did that and enjoyed the cool clear river water while we continued to the top. When we went down the "slide" (really just some smooth rocks) it was a quick thrill followed by a nice swim. Then you clambered thru the "rapids" and swam under a huge rock where my beer belly almost didnt make it thru, (I made it tho). Then we had to climb back DOWN on a separate path we went up. Down to the jumping cliff that had 3 heights, 20 foot high jump, 15 foot high and the 10 foot drop into the natural pool that my wife had jumped into earlier. Afterwards my son went back up to the rope swing (just before the cliff dive area) and swung out over the water and let go several times, that was fun too! There were 4 young kids from age 6 thru 12 with our group and they made it to the top and did everything! (With their parents and the Guide's help of course!) The Guide, Alex was awesome, upbeat and knowledgeable. He and another Guide, Jules from the same company (and a separate small group that was there at the same time) tag teamed helping people climb, pointed out the various vegetation and animals and plants around us and made it a fun trip. For me and my 22 yr old son the trip was 5 out of 5 stars, my wife says the same. Even though she was physically unable to climb all the way due to a bad tendon, knee and slightly overweight, what she did climb was fun for her as well as the jump into the cool clear water. She just sat in the pool watching people jump until we came back. She watched and enjoyed the fish in the riber as well while she sat cooling in the beautiful water. So she relaxed and had fun too! Can't say enough good things about Alex, the guide though. Solid, down to earth and upbeat! A true helper and teacher! So while a reasonably fit person will have no problem, heavy people or people with knee or foot problems probably shouldn't attempt the higher climb. But still be able to have fun!

You will get wet and muddy. So much fun. The rock climbing is no joke, so be prepared. I have been twice. Highly recommend.

Out of all the things that we did in Puerto Rico, this was my favorite by far. I would highly recommend taking this tour. Our tour guy was fabulous. He made it fine and even though the hike was a little much, it was so worth it. The views were beautiful.
