It is a fast-paced excursion with just enough time to experience the sights. Julie makes the travel portion enjoyable with her entertaining facts and anecdotes.

What a great trip! The pick-up went smoothly even better as it was a short walk to the meeting point and our fellow travellers proved to be very friendly. Kevin was our guide and he was excellent, very good English and very knowledgeable all things Taiwan. Our first stop was the coastal geocentre of Yehliu. The sandstone coastline is being eroded away creating fascinating “sculptures” including the queens head. The coastline is stunning and despite the light rain I found it amazing. We then travelled to the village ofJiufen which was an old gold-mining town. By now the rain was pelting down but didn’t stop us from walking the market trying the local delicacies and finishing off with a beef brith which was delicious. The rain lessened when we went to see the curtain waterfall, the “ little Niagara Falls”of Shifen which was impressive in its own way. Lastly we went to the village of Pingxi to light a lantern for our wishes to be send up into the air- too much of a commercial thing for me. Overall we had a fab time, did 11k steps without noticing, a really great trip.

The trip was really good and the guide Walter was very careful to count heads before moving onto the next attraction. Each place we visited was quite different which made the whole day more interesting. I went on a Sunday and that meant more visitors to each place, which was the only issue with this trip. The day was very enjoyable all round.

I really enjoyed the tour with the guide Walter. The stunning misty mountains of Pingxi district, the waterfalls will stay in my memory forever. The itinerary is well planned and I had enough time for the sightseeing, lunch and shopping. The bus was super comfortable with a footrest and a cup holder. I would purchase this tour again if I am in Taipei again.

The itinerary was great — all the stops were different and unique. I just wish our guide, Tony, had been a bit more engaged and shared more about the places we visited, as well as how to make the most of our time at each stop. For example, at Yehliu Geopark, we missed the chance to take a photo with the iconic “Queen’s Head” rock formation because of the long line — it would’ve helped if Tony had advised us to head there first or allowed more time at that stop. He also didn’t mention that we could hike down to the base of Shifen Waterfall — I only found out from another guide on my way back, so I missed that opportunity. That said, the places themselves were absolutely awesome and well worth visiting!

The tour was okay. The guide was helpful enough in describing all the points we visited. 2 stars for using a bus where the last row was higher than the rest of the bus. It meant you felt every bump during the drive with limited to no recline. The buses used by the other companies were modern and everyone had a comfortable seat. Book the tour if you’d like but you can get better value with another operator. I won’t be booking again unless they decide to use another bus which is comfortable for all the passengers.

Jenny was a very good guide, she gave us many useful information. It was raining and we could not see the waterfall but she took us to the Keelung temple, which was beautiful.

This trip included a lot of must see destinations around Taipei. We had a really nice tour guide. The weather was less than optimal and we all got completely soaked but it was still a really fun experience, especially the lantern at the start (which still took off despite the heavy rain). The beach and iconic rock were closed that day but our guide was prepared and brought us to a different spot instead.

Despite a very rainy day, the tour was excellent. 11,000 steps up and down slippery paths. Each site fun and very well organized. Tour guide Jenny and driver Eddie excellent. Explanations very easy to follow.. Sites—-lanturn flying, water fall and charming Juifen town all worth seeing.

The weather is beyond anyone’s control but the trip should have been called off due to the torrential rain. We didn’t do approximately 4 of the items on the itinerary because of the rain including the waterfall (would have been too dangerous) or releasing the lantern once we had written it, we were shuffled off with a little card to view them setting our lanterns off later on Facebook, but not great when you don’t have Facebook, so a little pointless writing if you can’t release or watch being released. Geopark was closed, we got our entrance fee back of 120 Taiwan dollar each but doesn’t compare to the amount we paid for the tour. We also couldn’t hear the tour guides explanations or hearing about history/culture as others on the bus talking over her, the guide should be able to control audience on the bus to make it fair for those wanting to listen. We’ve come away disappointed from this trip.
