Tinguely Fountain
In 1977 Jean Tinguely created sculptural machines in a shallow fountain where the stage of the old city theatre company once stood, and in the process gifted Basel a famous new landmark.
Basel Historical Museum - Barfuesserkirche
This church is nowadays home of the Historic Museum of Basel.

1.00We have booked multiple tours with Viator but this one was the absolute worst. While this tour was described as being in German and English, the time spent on providing information in English was extremely short compared to the German explanations. On top of that it seemed that our guide kept apologizing to the German speaking people often saying to us "and now I need to talk in English". At the end of the tour she even noted that the tour went over time because she had to repeat things in English. My recommendation to tourists...only book a tour in your native language. My recommendation to Viator...only offer tours in one language.

5.00This tour should be offered for 12.50 CHF because all guest staying at the hotel will be given a Visitor card which them the discount. The tour uses the same guide as the one offered by the city with the discount

5.00this was an excellent tour of Basel. The guide knew all about Basel. she walked the tour through the old town explaining its origin and how that influenced Basel's history. Her English was excellent. A very enjoyable tour at a perfect pace. Great way to see Basel.

1.00I tried to get my ticket via the email sent to me but it wouldn't open the ticket. Then went to app on the phone and in my account it did not show the tickets I purchased for the tour the day before. So we walked to the location the website showed for the tour and the tour was not there. When I tried to contact tripadvisor through their website it doesn't have "another reason" option for a refund. Only specific reasons like weather issues like that. No response yet. Feel we should not be charged for their app to not work on my iphone.

5.00Our guide Mr. Trueb was very articulate and worldly, led the tour in perfect English, and impressed with his extraordinarily cultured and serene charisma and calm manner. No teary nurse's tales or clichés came over his lips; instead, each execution had hand and foot, and he even took extra time to show us around the minster, giving me personal culinary tips. A very educational and enjoyable experience!
