  Marie van Klipspring is a great guide. Enthusiastic, friendly, and knows a lot about the area. She told us about the mountains and the vegetation. And together with us she chose which hiking trail we would take. She even made fresh cappuccino for us up in the mountain. It was wonderful and thanks a lot Marie!

  Klipspring will give you an unforgettable mountain experience! Marié guided us safely up the back side of Table Mountain, far away from the crowds. She is incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about South Africa’s nature and culture. We also enjoyed the most amazing breakfast with the most stunning view — the perfect reward after the climb! If you’re looking for an authentic, personal, and truly memorable day in the mountains, look no further. And if you’re really lucky, you’ll be accompanied by the cutest mountain dog ever!

  

  

• Cape Point Overnight Hike a Must-Do

  Did an overnight hike of the Cape Point with Marie with five other women. Absolutely loved it. Everyone was lovely under Marie’s expert guidance. We hiked the False Bay side of the Point first, slept at Erica bunk, and hiked the Atlantic coast on day 2. The food, conversation and camaraderie were lovely. Marie paced us well, peppering the days with coffee/tea and snacks, and lots of stories of the fynbos as well as the histories of the Cape. Cannot wait for my next hike with Marie!

  Jane and I had a good trip up to Table Mountain with Marie. Despite the white out and poor visibility we had an enjoyable tour on top of the mountain and stopped for tea and snacks. Marie was a great guide sharing the history of the area and we had a good tour of the coastline on our return to the hotel.   We had such a wonderful time with Klipspring Hikes! Marie was super responsive and on it when it came to organising the hike, and Jarrod was a wonderful guide. It was a particularly windy day so our hike to Kasteelsport was carefully and thoughtfully tailored to our needs, and thankfully Jarrod brought extra layers, just in case, which we desperately needed. It was perfect for our fitness levels, even while carrying a 1.5 year old in our hiking backpack, and we got such beautiful views. Thank you for the wonderful experience!!

  Marie took us on a fantastic hike up Table Mountain, where we got freshly brewed coffee and breakfast on a cliff with brilliant views of Cape Town. Marie is knowledgeable, nice and service oriented which made the hike a very nice experience. Can highly recommend Klipspring Hikes!

  We had an absolutely perfect experience with our guide, Marié! Our adventure began with a convenient pick-up from our hotel in the heart of Cape Town. We had initially planned to take a different route, but due to the slippery weather conditions, we made a spontaneous decision to switch to the Kasteelspoort route. It turned out to be a fantastic choice! The hike was incredible. The foggy weather created a unique, almost magical atmosphere as we made our way up, and when we finally reached the summit, we were rewarded with a spectacular view that made the whole experience unforgettable. Marié is an exceptional guide—not only in terms of her professional expertise, but also her warmth and personality. She's not only a passionate educator who ensured our safety and comfort throughout the hike, but also a lovely person with a wonderful sense of humor. She went above and beyond by providing a delicious breakfast spread with fresh coffee and local snacks, which added a personal touch to the journey and made it even more memorable. Her knowledge of the area's history and her enthusiasm for Cape Town’s stunning wildlife truly stood out. If you're considering a hike on Table Mountain, we can’t recommend Klipspring Hikes enough. • More than just a Hike!

  This hike was one of the most fulfilling i've been on - the views were magnificent and Marie's expert guidance and local knowledge truly made this a memorable event! Marie shared interesting facts about the fascinating flora and presented us with the most delicious freshly made koffie (on-tap using a little gas burner!) & traditional home-made rusks. Our hike ended with a swim in the cool, calm, clear waters of the dam - just what we needed before saying our goodbyes. Thank you Klipspring!

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Magical Experience Accessible from City Center!

  Just spent the most glorious morning walking up the shady side of Table Mountain. Halfway up we enjoyed freshly brewed coffee and rusks while looking over Lions Head and Camps Bay. My guide Marie was full of information about the flora and fauna. I felt safe and confident. The views were spectacular, but it was the fynbos flowers, the rocks, textures and smells of this unique landscape that would be a shame for any visitor to miss.
