  It was fantastic! We loved the experience of being inside a cave that was made 1000s of years ago. The glow worms are amazing to see in their natural habitat! The guides are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

  Te Anau Glow Worm Caves Tour was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. The journey across the lake to reach the caves was beautiful, and the tour itself was fascinating from start to finish. The guides were knowledgeable and engaging, explaining the history and geology of the caves before leading us inside. Seeing the glow worms up close in the dark cave was magical and something we’ll never forget. The whole experience was well organized and peaceful, making it suitable and enjoyable for all ages. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Te Anau.

  I was ambivalent about this tour, however motivated enough to book it and very glad that I did. Departed mid morning from central location to the cave jetty the boat trip took about 30 mins and we were blessed with a calm sunny day without wind. Beautiful conditions. The caves are a short walk from where the boat docks and we were split up into manageable groups - escorted through the pathways through the opening of the cave. Suggest wearing stout solid shoes and keeping warm. Take as little as possible and know that you will get dripped on throughout the caves. I loved this trip and it was really well managed by the tour team from checkin, the boat and the cave guides. If in the are - just do yourself a favour and do the trip.

  This was a wonderful, unique experience. A must see if you come to New Zealand. Nathan was a great guide who shared lots of interesting facts about the glow worms and the cave system. Boat tour was very scenic as well.

• Glow worms cave trip

  Awesome cave, very very loud rushing waters with channels looking like they've been carved out of the rock. Glow worms were plentiful. Interesting talk afterwards and learned lots about glow worms. Great guide.

  Not too long. Plenty of glowworms. Very concise informative information. Was good even in the rain. Staff were lovely.

  It is a very good combination of a lake trip and a cave visit. The explanations were interesting and all the staff were very professional and helpful. The cave is amazing and the trip was well organised. We enjoyed it so much!

  The glow worm caves were an incredible experience. Seeing thousands of tiny lights glowing above like a starry sky was beautiful. It’s a unique natural wonder and definitely something I’d recommend seeing at least once.

  The trip was interesting and well organised. They should definitely have highlighted the need for insect repellent prior to going on the tripas the sand flies were very unforgiving while we were stood waiting to go in the cave and when we came out and this was very uncomfortable.
