The fascinating Te Anau caves system on the western shore of Lake Te Anau offers an underground adventure that charms visitors of all ages. This tour takes you to a mysterious underground world of rushing water before drifting in silent darkness beneath the luminous shimmer of thousands of glowworms.

5.00Wear a warm jacket, it gets a bit chilly. The staff were really informative and the tour in the cave was really good.

5.00Highly recommend this tour. It was very a very enjoyable experience. Loved going on a boat through the cave and being in total darkness and total silence. All there was to see were the glow worms (note: this is only part of the tour)

5.00Great boat trip across the lake, with entertaining commentary. The caves were amazing, gradually got darker to ensure your eyes were fully accustomed and could appreciate the glow worms. Tour guide was really informative and interesting. Ended with a brief presentation on the life cycle of the glow worms in the visitors centre, before the 25 minute boat trip back to the jetty. Highly recommended.

5.00Fantastic! Was pleasantly surprised by how cool the caves were and the glow worms! The boat ride in the cave was unbelievable. I can’t believe they can guide through a pitch black cave on a boat! This was a highlight of our trip and a must see if you’re going to Te Anau!
