  Enjoyed entire experience- getting on the boat to reach the caves, walking into the caves and getting in boat inside the caves. The tour guide and the video at the end to explain about the worms was very good.

• Glow worms are great but the presentation of the experience itself needs work.

  The glow worms themselves are amazing to see but I was left feeling that this trip was an opportunity missed. The boat transfer is pleasant and if you have not done much boating in New Zealand a nice addition to the experience. The glow worm visit itself is where the opportunities are missed I feel. The trip underground is a circular route which is great and the actual glow worms are plentiful and awe inspiring. The guide offered a commentary and here is where the big opportunity is missed - unless you are first or second in the single file chain then you don't hear a single word of it. Surely with technology today it would be possible to have the guide with a microphone and the guests with ear pieces? The underground boat ride was good though at one point without warning my shoulder was smacked into the rock even though I was sitting fully within the confines of the boat - not a pleasant experience. Photos are fully banned under ground which I get in general terms for the ambiance of the trip and for the sake of the glow worms (I guess) but surely there could be one photo opportunity with the worms (as there are at other such venues) even if it is fully controlled by the organisers and charged as it is in so many other tourist locations. Memories are the only momento that you can take from the current trip.

  There are no disclaimers or warnings for low ceilings and people that suffer claustrophobia. Or are very tall. You are suddenly guided into a dark space and literally crawling as we are tall and not given any warning about how low the ceilings were. Had one off our family members been warned ahead of time that it would open up soon, perhaps they could have completed the experience.

  YOU CANT TAKE PHOTOS OR BUY A PHOTO AFTER THE TOUR. This should be clear BEFORE YOU GO!! We may not have gone if we'd known beforehand, felt cheated! Underwhelming overall

  This was like nothing I’ve ever seen. I wondered if it was hype but to see the glow worms in a pitch black cave was mind blowing! The guide was brilliant too. And the bonus was a lovely boat trip across lake Te Anau. An absolutely must see and worth every penny!

  Fantastic It's great actually seeing the glow worms in their natural space. The staff had good knowledge and was able to answer everyone's questions Also the trip over on the boat was lovely Cannot fault it at all, This is my 2nd trip over and would defo do it again

  Really was a great experience seeing the glow worms, and very different, so long as you don’t like dark narrow spaces. The cruise boat to reach them was a lovely 25minute ride across the lake and the after talk, interesting As normal in NZ the whole operation was slick but for two things. 1. Because of the noise of the water rushing through we couldn’t hear the guide. So either she needed to have a microphone or we needed headsets. 2. At times the ceilings in the caves are very low, especially at the entrance, but then it was difficult to see where we could stand up straight so small lights on the ceiling would have been very useful.

  Fabulous experience. This is not just about viewing glow worms. The initial boat trip across the lake afforded us some beautiful lake views. Then we had the amazing experience of walking through caves carved out by the thunderous water that flows through the entire cave system. Finally the glow worms, which were amazing. Our guides were informative, and very happy to respond to any questions. Loved it!

  Great tour, very thorough and well presented. We learned a lot. The tour was set up in a way that gave each small group of 16 people access to the glowworms in a calm and beautiful way.
