Just 50 minutes away from the city of Kalamata is located the most important jewel of south Greece! The gulf of Navarino, the most important site of the Greek modern history. Hike to the top of the hill and admire the breathtaking view of the legendary gulf, the wetland of Yalova with the rare species of animals and the old Navarino castle. Enjoy your fresh fruits while the experienced guide will inform you about the historical interests of the area. Swim at one of the most famous beaches of Peloponnese. Afterwards wonderful dishes will be served to you in a Greek elegant tavern right next to the sea coast.

5.00The whole experience was really pleasant and exciting!!! George and Dimitri from Climb up are great professionals also very kind, nice people, and fun . From the beginning they show up even before time of departure, super thoughtful they brought sticks for the hike, water to make sure everybody will be well hydrated during the activity. The tour itself was incredible, amazing!!! I'm suspicious about it since I've been studying philosophy for long time and it was my dream to place my feet in Greece, such a lovely place and didn't disappointed a bit . From the beginning it was exhilarating , a scenery you don't believe, filled with the best views you can only imagine. Nature gift us and minimum we can do is just appreciate by being there. I can't be more grateful for that. In the meanwhile the hike was guided by George which you feel like he is an old friend and also made sure to register our journey as well , taking amazing photos of us was a plus I didn't even expected and Dimitri played the body guard making sure everyone was going well. They really care for everyone's comfort and safety at all times. George also is a very knowledgeable man, simply speaks from the heart , during the tracking he told us about some Greek history very precise on dates and facts, it was interesting moment, the top of the cake ! After hiking... Gialova Lagoon!!!! Simply Fantastic !!! Such a stunning moment where you feel you stop on time and you can just melt and blend to crystal clear calm warm waters, this is nothing but a great opportunity to be one with mother nature. Our tour had a precise schedule and they were serious about it by managing our time very well, they made sure we could enjoy a lot and yet go back to the hotel on time as we needed. I can't recommend strongly enough Climb up !!! I can just thank them !!! Nothing much else to say here, except, don't think twice, just book your tours with them and enjoy !!!

5.00What an amazing experience! I enjoyed every moment of this hike around the Navarino bay and up to old castle ruins. Our guide not only had great hiking skills but also added a great deal of historical knowledge to the adventure. I highly recommend Climb Up & this beautiful hike!

5.00A gorgeous hike with the gorgeous George!! He has these outings timed to perfection and is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his beautiful region and the country generally. Highly recommended. Take your cossie (swimming costume) to round out a fantastic hike. Samantha.

5.00Alex is an experienced and superb guide who ensured we had a very special experience on this trip. He explained the historical significance and pointed out the many flora and fauna that we otherwise would have missed. If you take the route with the best views, the hike is a mixture of lagoon edge, sand dunes, rocky trail and a short rocky scramble, all very manageable with Alex’s expert help. There is an easier trail if you’d prefer. The views are spectacular! Nestor’s Cave is beautiful with stunning views over the lagoon and the coast where the Aegean and Ionian seas meet. We even saw flamingos flying in for their stopover before flying on to Africa! Old Navarino Castle is worth the climb. Stunning and we experienced a beautiful sunset to make it even more special! We finished our evening at a restaurant in Gialova, specially chosen by ClimbUp and the food was outstanding. So pleased we did this. Thank you, Alex! One point to note, do use insect repellent before you start out. You won’t be bothered with midges but they are around.
The view is well worth the hike!!

5.00The hike was amazing! An absolutely beautiful setting and our guide, Alex was knowledge and supportive! The tour starts at the beach, climbs first to the cave and then to the castle. We walked back down where we went for a swim and then dinner, which was excellent, also included! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Climb Up, thanks Alex for a fabulous afternoon/evening!

5.00Really interesting hike around the lagoon and then up to an old castle and cave. A quick paddle in the sea before going to a lovely taverna for dinner on the seafront at sunset. Alex was a great guide with lots of info about local history, nature and olive trees! A little bit of everything on this trip - really enjoyable

5.00Went with fellow neilson travellers. Lovely hike up hill to ruined castle for excellent views and a very interesting and informative talk from George. Both guides Alex and George were very helpful. Refreshing swim after the hike followed by a lovely meal in a taverna. Wear trainers and don't forget your swimsuit. Some of us went the "easy way up" but it was still slightly tricky in places but i managed it with an injured arm. You can leave change of clothes/towels etc in minivan whilst hiking.
Beatiful lagoon/hilltop walk/ swimming in nature reserve with culture and history.
