  Great views of the city. Was crowded and hard to get to a place to take pictures because of rude tourists who wouldn't move as they were watching sunset. We did the beam photo as well which resulted in a good picture but you pay for the picture to be taken and then have to order and pay for the picture. It was a great experience but a bit pricey for what you get.

• Rip off pricing for not much of an experience.

  Not worth the money. We used our Go City pass, had a bit of a wait to get in to watch a film then go up in the lift. Yes the views are good, but similar to the other observation decks ( except Central Park view is unique) however, we paid $25 for the chance to ride on the beam, no phones allowed, decent enough but lasts around 90 seconds at most. Then you get your photo taken and a code to scan to get the photo. Sadly when we logged in, the photo was $40 dollars and only two choices! Absolute shocking price!! The best bit of the whole experience was sitting out on the patio talking to the other tourists with a glass of wine (that you pay for) Just don’t waste your money.

  We have a fantastic experience at the top of the rock and the beam. Robert at the kiosk was extremely helpful and so kind.

  It’s a pretty expensive attraction, like most views in New York, but the Top of the Rock is definitely worth it. It offers a different and very complementary angle on the city, with an absolutely impressive overview. In my opinion, it is one of the best observatories in New York, thanks in part to the dual perspective: Central Park on one side and the Empire State Building on the other, which is quite unique. We went with four teenagers and young adults, and they all loved the experience. The terraces allow you to enjoy the panorama and take great photos. Despite the price, it is a memorable visit that I definitely recommend, especially for a first discovery of the city.

  We visited as a family and absolutely loved it. We booked tickets via the City Pass and saved 40% and opted to go later to avoid the crowds. Entry was quite swift with no major queues. Staff were brilliant, happy to help and generally made you feel so welcome even if you were the 1000 person that day. The tour and building were well thought out, the little movie about the history and the trip in the lift. This was one of the only places that had accessibility as a key consideration (New York isn’t a step free thinking place for those with mobility needs). The views are spectacular from every angle especially at Christmas when you can watch Sak’s display from on high. You can spend as much or little time as you want, we didn’t feel rushed or pushed through. Really recommend a visit and thanks to the staff who were doing a brilliant job.

  This is the one I was looking forward to the most, a bit underwhelmed really. Nice views and photos. Bit dated. The beam was being tested so I think it was down, however that was extra and photos cost more, as does the sky deck. It was ok, would rush to go again. The ticket came with an add on of being able to get a pic by the tree. A male staff member to me where to go and we tried but a young g staff member told me I had to go on the deck first and that I don’t have the right admission to get the picture. When I just questioned and showed my ticket she told me to shut up and relax. Feel I didn’t get the full experience. Shame really

  The beam has to be the biggest rip-off scam ever … $25 each to sit on it and have your photo taken. What they don’t tell you is that if you want your photo it is another $75. They give you a card with a QR code and tell you you can still download it digitally if you don’t want to pay for a print. BUT the download is covered in watermarks and you can’t do anything with it unless you pay the $75. Even worse, if you don’t download it on the day, you can’t access it later.

  Amazing views of the city! A must if you’re visiting NYC! They share some of the history of this site, Rockefeller Center. And afterwards there are several shops and restaurants to visit. They also have a few unique experiences for an extra cost, but fun for kids. The staff is very helpful.

  Very cool views — outrageously expensive. Wish there was more singage and information about the history of the building and info about NYC. There was a very brief but nice video. All the staff was lovely though!
