You will be picked up from your hotel in Mandalay between 12.30pm-1.30pm depending on the timing of sunset and then drive south from Mandalay to get out of the traffic. As the sprawl lessens, we find ourselves in the dry zone where the inhabitants can sustain an agricultural livelihood thanks to ancient canals. You will start the bike ride and take a leisurely ride through farmland and villages where locals will be pleasantly surprised to see you and call out with greetings. Along the way you will stop by the hometown of the Mayor U Bein after whom the bridge is named. Also learn more about a Muslim community that has lived here for the last two hundred years. You will have the opportunity to explore the shady paths through the ancient capital of Ava and finish our ride at U Bein Bridge. U Bein Bridge spans 1.2 km and was reportedly built by Mayor U Bein from salvaged teak wood that was left behind in the move of the capital from Amarapura to Mandalay in 1859. Although the bridge has been repaired in the past, the pillars are still the original wood. After relaxing in the last light of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel in Mandalay arriving by 7:30pm.

5.00This was a good way to get out of Mandalay and see some of the life outside the city and some nice historic sites as well. Bike ride easy going - as advertised - so no worries if you are not a hardcore cyclist. The guide, a young man named Linn, did a very nice job - he was enthusiastic, flexible, knowledgeable, and spoke very good English, which he was eager to take to the next level. This was my second tour with Grasshopper (previously did one in Bagan) and they are well organized and easy to work with.
Great guide, good equipment and very professional. Worth the money

5.00We had a fantastic afternoon doing the U Bein Bridge Sunset Cycling Day Tour from Mandalay. We saw so many different things and the trip was exactly how it was described ending the day on the river with the sunset at the bridge. I have to mention our guide who was superb Wai Linn Aung a young lad who was so enthusiatic about what he did, the places he took us and his knowledge was great too. My wife hadn't been on a bike for over 20 years and she managed and loved it too. Thanks again Grasshopper and we will use your services again the next time we are in one of your locations!!

5.00This is a fantastic way to see some of the smaller villages and understand all the great work they do to make a living. Our tour guide was Lyn and he was fantastic. The finale of the sunset at U Bein bridge was remarkable and this tour was the highlight of our stay in Mandalay! Would highly recommend!

5.00We had a great time cycling through Myanmar countryside and temples meeting local people doing their job on the way. Our guide Lin made our tour very fascinating and authentic. Sunset cruise by U Bein bridge ended our day in best possible way. Highly recommend!

5.00This tour was great. Highly recommend. The cycling was not hard. I only wish I had brought a GoPro for on-the-move photography because I kept wanting to stop and take photos along the way. Our guide, Linn, was excellent. We unfortunately didn't have time to walk on the U Bein bridge after the sunset boat ride. That would me my one suggestion to the guides.

5.00Dan was a great and knowledgeable tour guide taking us around the village and ancient site of Innwa. Much better way to travel than horse and cart in my opinion because you move freely. Dan provides good snacks and we got to sample some local street food also. We cycled 21km (we used a FitBit to measure) through countryside and village stopping at various interesting points as we went. Safety helmets were provided and the bikes were excellent condition. As well as stopping at ruins and pagodas, we also stopped at a weaving factory which was interesting. We took a short ferry hop across the river which was fun and finally we take a rowing boat into the river to look at the U Bein Bridge. Excellent trip, highly recommend.

5.00We had a wonderful afternoon away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Our guide Phyo showed us beautiful places and gave us good insights. He spoke good English and provided us very well. Also the driver was very accommodating. With the great bikes, the stage went by itself. Highly recommended!
