  Everything went just as described in the excursion description. Our guide Jane was so much fun. Her French Creole personality was a perfect match to describe this French island. Our dri era Michele did a good job maneuvering the narrow twisty roads. All the stops were just as advertised. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

  Tour started on time. The van was comfortable and the Air conditioner was working beautifully. Manuel was the best guide. Full of information and so friendly!

  Most of the tour was in silence going from one location to another. The tour guide had little information to provide.

  We were ably guided by Manuel and driven by Georges; both fantastic at what they do (Manuel full of useful information but also hugely personable; Georges a very competent and safe driver). I think this is the right tour - we visited St Pierre, Mt Pelée and Saut Gendarme waterfall. Definitely take a towel and swimmers to take a dip in the pool at the base of the waterfall, very refreshing… with Manuel’s commentary, this was a great way to see a chunk of the north of the island.

  This was the only “experience” we took that wasn’t just a beach day. Stephan, our guide, was very informative and fun. We got to see so many interesting parts of Martinique. He took us to a small local spot for an authentic lunch with great rum drinks. This wasn’t included in the tour, but our small group really wanted the full Martinique experience and we sure got it. My only recommendation would be to wear sneakers or sturdy sandals. We climbed to see a waterfall, and it was a little treacherous.

  When I booked this tour through Viator, it said it left at 9 o’clock. It also said it was going to make a stop at a rum distillery. The morning of the excursion I saw I got a message through Tripadvisor telling me the tour will be starting at 10 o’clock. I asked in the chat for clarification. I was in my cabin on the cruise. It was 8:45 AM I didn’t have time to sit around and wait for them to respond because I was afraid I was going to arrive late for the tour ,and they would leave. Upon arrival, I come to find out that I have over an hour before they left ,no real explanation as to why they started an hour later, so my husband was not pleased after we left the cabin in a rush, and he didn’t even have his morning coffee. The excursion said it was giving beverages, alcohol, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic. The first stop was at a very old church just like the tour described. You had a few minutes to go look at the church and come back on the bus .After the first stop we went to the waterfall, which was quite treacherous to walk on slippery muddy rocks 2 people falling down ,my husband, and I opted just to stand back and watch from above. The next stop was an old prison with an explanation of the prisoner who was the only soul survivor after the eruption of a volcano. At this point it’s quite hot out, and people are thirsty, and the tour guide brings you into a little souvenir type place where you are led to sit down and watch a video not exactly anything anyone on the bus was interested in most people walked out and bought themselves bottles of water and ice cream. The excursion had said, they provide beverages, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic, but at no point where we offered them yet.. instead people decided just to purchase water on their own because at this point they were very thirsty back on the bus Magdy the tour guide was trying to engage with everyone telling stories about the different food that is popular in Martinique letting us know that she doesn’t know because she’s a vegan though.. telling us about the wonderful Room distilleries but then unfortunately we will not be going there today and that’s when I spoke up and said when I booked this, it said rum distillery and then another lady on the tour said that’s absolutely correct. she read the same thing as me and Magdy apologized and said no we’re not going to distillery that’s not on the agenda…. and then the next step was supposed to be a beach and she proceeded to ask us if we wanted to go to the beach or if we would prefer to get food being that this tour started an hour late. Most people were hungry and wanting food so she brought us to a restaurant on the beach where we were all able to purchase lunch for ourselves and at that point she gave out water bottles and came around with some kind of a punch with alcohol. this tour was not worth it. It was basically getting on a bus spending a few minutes in a church back on the bus to go to a waterfall quite dangerous to walk down to if you were in so inclined and then get off the bus walk up stairs over cobblestone steps and go see what’s left of a prison cell go back down the stairs go into a souvenir shop to go watch a movie that you could watch on your phone on YouTube and then go to a restaurant on the beach because basically you are starving and have to insist that you need food not worth it. Don’t waste your time.
