Join an evening excursion and follow cryptic radio transmissions and the lingering traces of two long-ago hikers to find the scenic trailhead where the real journey begins. This pathway leads toward a place filled with beauty, and proof that the legends of Whistler are true. Moment Factory, a global leader in video, lighting, sounds and special effects, will bring Whistler’s forests to life this summer with a brand-new show.
This 1.5 km (summer) / 1km (winter) trail through an old growth forest will take visitors of all ages on an hour-long multimedia night walk in pursuit of hidden wonders.
The entire experience takes place outside within a trail network which is partially levelled but not asphalted.
The course initially heads up the hillside through a moderate gradient and a few sets of stairs before heading back down - the back half of the course is flatter. Including up and down, there are roughly 275 staircase steps.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Not recommended for travelers that may suffer from epilepsy or are affected by visual light stimulation .
This is an outdoor experience that runs rain, snow or shine. Travellers must be physically fit to walk the unpaved trail in winter conditions.
Our Summer course involves stairs and is not suitable for those with mobility challenges.

Every evening after the sun sets, the magic of Vallea Lumina begins. This activity is family friendly and all ages are welcome to marvel at the hidden wonders of forest. Guests will arrive at our quaint Cougar Mountain basecamp, where they can enjoy free parking, offerings from our Café like hot chocolate, cookies and s'mores kits that can enjoyed by our fire-pits and washroom facilities. At tour time, guests will be check in by our Rangers and begin the 1km trail through an enchanted forest. The unpaved trails winds through the forest and over rivers, with magical lights and mysterious sounds guiding the way. Vallea Lumina leads toward a place filled with beauty, and proof that the legends of Whistler are true.

Basecamp Experience: Before and after your tour, enjoy the ambiance of our Cougar Mountain basecamp with Café and firepits to roast marshmallows.

4.00The effects were really wonderful! A truly magical experience! The only downside for me was the amount of stairs involved. We also noticed a lot of people racing through the experience, despite being told to take it slowly at the beginning, so you didn’t miss anything.

3.00It’s just a trail on a mountain where they use projectors to show lights or singing scenes. You’re supposed to find clues??? No one does and it’s time to go back home. The country side atmosphere is nice though.

5.00It was a wonderful enchanted forest walk.The virtual components were pretty fabulous. It’s a true story when they say there is an uphill climb and stairs but it’s worth it :)) The trail was pretty dark in some parts and we needed to use our phone flashlights for safety.
