Thank you Cheeky Matt!!! The day was phenomenal. The drive is filled with beautiful scenery, got to try some delicious meat pies, saw some glow worms (definitely a must see). Went to the Te Puia Center that was filled with so much to see and learn about. The guide that took us in Te Puia was very knowledgable and truly made the whole experience. Hearing him speak in his native tongue teaching us of the land was very much informative. If you have the time you should definitely do this tour. Our driver Matt was a delight and was very knowledgeable about NZ as well as other things to do while here. Thanks for letting me be Co Captain for the day! It was truly a lovely experience, I cannot wait to come back to NZ. Oh and you get to see a baby kiwi :0 Lastly, bring a some snacks it is a long day!

A fantastic day trip experience! Dean was a wonderful driver and guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and funny, which made the journey both comfortable and engaging. At the Waitomo Caves, Shyla was excellent and made the visit truly memorable, while Hweya at Te Puia was warm and informative, sharing fascinating insights about Māori culture. The whole tour was well-organized with smooth transitions and pre-booked slots, making it a stress-free and enjoyable day. The long drive was absolutely worth it—highly recommended!

It was a great trip! Brad was very informative, patient and accommodating. There was a lot of time in the bus so next time I might include Hobbiton in the trip. The visits to the glow worm cave and Te Puih were fantastic. Plenty of time and the kiwis were adorable!!

Fantastic trip and would not hesitate to book again for this or any other tour with Cheeky Kiwi. Our guide Grant was incredibly knowledgeable about New Zealand as a whole and went out of his way to make the trip and fun adventure.

It's a long drive from Auckland, but worth it. The Glowworm Caves were amazing to see. Also enjoyed seeing the geothermal mud pots and geysers in Rotorua.

Matt was a great driver and he drove and kept us entertained for over 12 hours. It’s a long day of driving. It didn’t bother us so much but maybe that was because the bus was nice. The two main stops are both worthwhile but really the whole area outside of Auckland is the most amazing part. I did learn a lot from all of the guides. It was nice to see so many young people do proud of their heritage.

Simon with CheekyKiwi was such a cheerful, passionate and knowledgeable guide! Our favorite part was the kiwis and we also loved learning about the craftsmanship of the Māori people, so much so we almost forgot about the way-cool glowworms and cave at the start of the day! Beautiful drive but it is a lot of time sitting in a car (6+ hours). That’s the only caveat I’d place for my fellow travelers.
