Lighthouse Morro Negro

The newly renovated lighthouse stands on a small mountain (150 m), which can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. A beautiful view is guaranteed and the climb is worth every effort!

Here you can, with a little luck, find a nice fan shell! You also have time to unwind.

The village of flowers and colorful houses. Here we take a village tour on foot and look at the local church. Time seems to have stopped here. See the original Boa Vista!

We go to a vegetable farm. There we see what is grown on the island and despite the dryness everything was possible. Our farmer Teta is happy about every visit and makes us a delicious lunch.

Back on route 66.

There is also something else to see on Boa Vista than hotels and beaches: rural life and breathtaking views from the Farol de Monte Negro lighthouse.
If you haven't explored the East, you haven't seen Boa Vista!!

A fantastic tour with mega great experiences. You can see a pristine expanse, unique play of colors and the shell beach. The lighthouse is the highlight 🤩 with an indescribably beautiful view. Guide and driver 👍🏽 Top... Vera is an excellent tour guide, explained everything super well and came across likeable 😊 Thank you very much. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

What an amazing and educational day out with Rotcha Tours. Our guide bernado couldn't have made the day any better. The tour took us to most of the main tourist Hotspots but included places not normally seen whilst visiting the island. Possibly the highlight for us was visiting a local farm and realising how difficult it is to run a farm in this harsh environment. Thanks Anita and team for a great day

My 3rd tour with Rotcha. Everything was right with this one too. Most people book north and/or south tours, but the east tour is absolutely worthwhile. The ascent to the lighthouse is a bit strenuous, but definitely worth it. Once at the top you have a wonderful view. Thank you Anita!

Drive through a desert or rather be driven as there are certainly no signposts, and you eventually arrive at the base of a hill upon which stands the lighthouse. The climb on foot up a cobblestone track is about 300 metres and once up there the views are spectacular. The lighthouse keeper is there, he has a bedroom plus a kitchen area, there is a loo but he asked 1€ for the privilege! He also has various bits for sale such as necklaces. Climb to the top of the lighthouse and if you have a hat, hold onto it. Be warned, the final ascent takes you through a smallish opening onto the area where the light is. From here go to the shell beach which is extraordinary. An area of beach that has 000’s maybe millions of washed up shells amongst which is plastic bottles - a sad indictment of our throw away society. A good day out - take sunscreen!

Represents the east well. A diversity of landscapes that you travel right through.. as in a movie.. Very nice, a bit dusty and put on good walking shoes if you want to walk to the lighthouse, is very worth it for the beautiful view!

At the end of the Santa Monica no stress tour (which went well) I was told the possibility to go the next day (last day of my stay) to the east (I had not found an agency or guide to go there) so I was delighted but I was very disappointed: no stop in the villages very known for the colorful façades and I had to insist on going to the shell beach.I had not been told that the walk to Odje d'mar would replace the program usually proposed so I think it should be clear before selling an excursion to avoid disappointment.

My husband and I booked the "Wild East" tour with Abel-Tours. We were alone with Abel and had a super great day. The tour is just great and also Abel is a great guide. You can ask him anything and he knows an answer to everything, since he grew up there. The points that were approached were great to look at and also super interesting. We can only recommend Abel-Tours.

Very interesting and authentic excursion that was put together especially for us. In a family atmosphere we explored the east coast together. On a next holiday to Cape Verde we will want to explore the rest of the island with you. Many thanks to Anita and her family. Best regards Chianta family
